The food was decent, but the overall dining experience was quite disappointing due to the rude attitude of one of the waitresses.
When we arrived without a reservation, she simply said there was a table available outside and walked back into the restaurant without offering to seat us or saying anything else. Another waitress ended up helping us and giving us menus.
Later, when we were placing our order, the first waitress came back and, after asking what we wanted to drink, she abruptly took the menu out of my hands, saying “this isn’t the right menu.” It was rude and unnecessary—I was still looking at it and considering ordering more.
We also asked to switch tables because the one we were seated at had a very hot surface, while the one next to us (which had just become available) had a wooden top. She completely ignored us—no response, no eye contact, just walked away. Once again, the other waitress assisted us.
When we finished eating, I tried to ask for the check twice, and was ignored both times. I had to walk inside to ask for it directly, and even then she acted like I wasn’t there. Eventually, she gave me the bill after a long wait.
Overall, aside from the one waitress who was polite and professional, the rest of the experience was disappointing. I...
Read moreI’m not sure if they couldn’t speak English properly, but I found a broken piece of chopstick in my food. I didn’t realise and nearly bit into it – I could have damaged my tooth. I showed it to the staff and asked, “Is this from a broken chopstick?” The staff member simply said, “It’s okay” and walked away. I said “Not okay” under my breath, but there was no apology whatsoever.
Mistakes can happen in the kitchen, fair enough – but how can a restaurant operate without even saying sorry when a customer’s tooth could have been harmed? I found it very unpleasant.
To be honest, I disliked this place from the start. As soon as we sat down and throughout the entire meal, one of the staff members was sweeping the floor with a broom, stirring up dust all over the dining area. Why? If cleaning is necessary, then there should be a break time – why do it while customers are eating?
The food wasn’t particularly good either. I feel misled by the 4.5-star rating. I wouldn’t recommend this...
Read moreIf you’re feeling like having some original Japanese cuisine you must visit this restaurant. The food was quite exceptional overall. Must go for one of their udon bowls, and definitely get the fried tofu, it was crispy but soft on the inside.
The fried chicken was also satisfying but I wasn’t particularly transported by the batter/breading used. Nowadays the game of fried chicken is really packed with flavor, so you either deliver that or something will always feel like is missing. Also the amount of Japanese mayonnaise wasn’t enough, and they charged me extra for another side of mayo, which considering the fact that I’m spending quite some money, they could throw that in. Also I would have expected some twist with the mayo dipping sauce, would have made the chicken more special.
Overall the mood of the restaurant is friendly but seems like they lost their spark a bit. I suggest this restaurant since you can have great authentic Japanese food and most likely won’t...
