Review of GAST: Aesthetic Brunch, but Food Falls Short

I recently visited GAST for brunch after discovering them on Instagram, and overall, it was a pleasant experience, though not exceptional. The ambiance was nice—cozy and inviting, with decor that I absolutely loved. The waiters were polite and attentive, offering good recommendations, though not quite impressive enough to warrant a tip.

Now, onto the food. I ordered the Turkish eggs, which came with focaccia. While the dish was aesthetically pleasing, the focaccia was served cold, which was disappointing, and the Turkish eggs themselves lacked flavor. A bit of salt and pepper helped, but it felt like something was missing. For dessert, I went with the roulé pistache, one of my favorite pastries. Unfortunately, it was dry and lacked the pistachio filling I was hoping for—a letdown for such a classic treat.

Overall, GAST is a great spot for an Instagrammable brunch, but if you’re a foodie who prioritizes flavor and quality, this might not be your first choice. It’s a nice place to visit once, but I’m not sure I’d rush back.

I had an amazing brunch experience at this spot! Their formula menu is a fantastic concept—you get to customize your meal while still keeping it at a set price, which feels like a great deal. The menu allows you to enjoy a savory egg dish, a deliciously fresh croissant and bread, a granola yogurt that was the perfect amount of tart/sweet with the fresh maple syrup they added plus a cookie that was unbelievably good—chewy, soft, perfectly sweet, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. I was seriously impressed!

You also get a drink included, with the option to upgrade for just a few extra euros to a specialty beverage, which was totally worth it. Everything was well thought out, from the flavors to the presentation.

The atmosphere was another highlight—a calm, stylish neighborhood setting with a relaxed and cozy vibe. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive. I had asked for a takeaway but accidentally left it behind, and to my surprise, our server ran down the street to catch me and hand it over. That level of service truly made my day!

Highly recommend this place for a delicious, well-balanced brunch with a welcoming touch. I’ll definitely be...

Service impeccable.

J'y retournerai sûrement pour...
