La Crêperie de Josselin is a true Parisian gem — and judging by this visit, it's easy to see why it enjoys such a sterling reputation.
From the moment you sit down, the cozy, unpretentious ambiance sets the tone for an authentic Breton crêpe experience. The photo captures a perfect example of what makes this spot special: golden, beautifully crisped crêpes folded with precision and care. The surface glistens with butter, promising indulgence in every bite. The plate, charmingly vintage with its floral border, adds a lovely rustic touch that speaks to the restaurant's warmth and tradition.
The crêpe itself was thin yet substantial, with just the right amount of crisp at the edges and a soft, almost custard-like center — likely from a touch of sugar and butter caramelized to perfection. Whether sweet or savory, each bite feels like a small celebration of simple, honest ingredients.
Accompanied by a velvety café crème and served with classic French sugar cubes and a biscuit on the side, the experience was comforting and elegant all at once. The attention to detail, from presentation to service, was impeccable. The casual clink of cups, the warmth of a shared table, and the buttery aroma of freshly made crêpes created an atmosphere that felt both timeless and irresistibly French.

Read moreIf you're in Paris and curious to see (and taste) crêpe-heaven then make sure you head to Rue de Montparnasse. The colorful street is lined with seemingly infinite choices! However if you don't have time (or appetite) to try 20 different crêperies then stop, drop your armful of baguettes, and RUN straight to Crêperie Josselin.Their savory galettes, sugary dessert crêpes, and crisp hard apple cider cannot be matched by anyone else in the city.
When my friends and I arrived at 6:00 we were seated and served immediately. (Somehow we timed it perfectly because by the time we left it was PACKED!) Amusingly enough, despite how bustling the restaurant got the ambiance still remained quaint and homey throughout our dinner.
But onto the most important part--the FOOD. Mon dieu! C'était incroyable! For my meal I ordered the galette chèvre et miel. Buttery buckwheat galette + warm goat cheese + heaps of honey = absolute foodie bliss. But was that enough? Pas du tout! So my friends and I all shared a homemade toffee-syrup and vanilla ice cream crêpe for dessert. Needless to say, the crepe was oozing in delicious toffee goodness and the 3 of us finished it in a matter of minutes!
Highly, HIGHLY recommended and I've had a lot of time to try different Parisien crêperies in my semester...
Read moreAs one of the frequent customers of the crêperie, I must say we were treated with the utmost disrespect and rudeness from the owner, and will never, ever consider going back there. Here's what happened: My friend and I arrived at around 21:00 when the place was at its busiest hour. We sat down, ordered a salty crêpe and a whole bottle of cider, waiting for the third person to join us. The dish came and my friend went out to fetch her as I waited for them for about 10 mins, during which the owner kept on giving me the silent gaze treatment to pose the pressure. Finally she came up to me, literally grilled me where my friend went, are we going to order other dishes soon or not, with half of the crêperie staring at me in embarrassment and astonishment. She even pushed the dish we already ordered in front of me and told me to eat up, and finish the bottle so that she could give the table to some other people. I've always known that the Parisian service has been notorious for decades, but this is such a disgrace that no customer should ever put up with, no matter how good the food is. If you do not care about the service and you're a fast eater then by all means, la Crêperie de Josselin would be...
