Where do I start. This place is actually quite amazing.. we decided to leave a dreadful place we went to for a drink. We just spotted la Regence across the street and saw a couple of good reviews online. Decided to sit down and were greeted by a really professional waiter who clearly knew what he was doing (having been a fine dining waitress in London myself!). We were brought some fab red wine and a Parisian beer after being given some advice on drinks (expertise and knowledge of the drinks menu with a bit of passion! Winning combo!). Then decided to order a plate of charcuterie, the small one, and it is quite enough to have a winning starter while sipping some wine and observing the Parisian street getting busier and busier. We then ordered a burger and a duck breast. The burger was phenomenal, the bun made by the boulangerie a few metres away. FINALLY some rare meat, ever since I've lived in London there's not a high enough quality of beef to actually make it safely rare. The duck is my favourite type of meat and it was cooked perfectly, the mash that went with it was just so creamy and without double cream, just pure potatoes and butter (YUM!).

Overall a beautiful culinary experience, and the service was excellent as well (blonde waiter with blue eyes, thank you so much!!)....

We are visiting Paris with friends and we are staying in a hotel in the Vendome area. This cafe is within walking distance of our hotel. It was one of many cafes recommended by our concierge. We requested a table with a view of the street as we didn't want to sit on the street for dinner. Our table for 4 at a window was ready and was just what we wanted. The host was friendly and efficient. Our waiter came by and gave us our menus and the wine list. The host and waiter spoke english well enough to communicate with us without much of a problem. The wines could be ordered by the glass and bottle. We each ordered a glass of what we wanted and it was good. We then each ordered our starters which was the snail's, French onion soup, and goat cheese with grilled vegetables. All of them were delicious. We then ordered our main course which was the prime steak, rum steak, salmon and pasta with pesto sauce. This was accompanied by the delicious and crusty French bread. All the entrees were tasty. The meat was not quite as tender as we were used to but we expected that and both meat entrees were medium rare as we requested; and their potato sides were also delicious. Needless to say, it was another...

We arrived at Caffè de la Régence in Paris and asked an employee if a table was available. He said yes and seated us. However, shortly after, a woman — presumably the manager — began speaking very disrespectfully about us right in front of us, using offensive language and saying things like “Just sit them down, I don’t care” and “They can go to another restaurant.”

Surprised, I politely asked the waiter in French if there was a problem and why she was speaking about us like that. He explained that another staff member had seated us too soon, without checking if others were waiting. When he informed the manager that I understood French and had heard everything, she responded, “I don’t care — they can leave if they want.”

At that point, my family and I felt so humiliated that we chose to leave. We’ve never felt so unwelcome or disrespected in any restaurant. What hurt the most was how freely they spoke about us, assuming we wouldn’t understand.

My advice: Avoid this place entirely. The staff are rude, unprofessional, and show no regard for hospitality or basic respect. If I could give this place zero stars, I...

Cage De la Regence is an attractive establishment with two lines of tables on each side of the sidewalk, decorated with artificial flowers and good taste. While the service was good, it was not exceptional. Unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations. I ordered a non-alcoholic beer that was terrible. However, the waiter took it back and generously brought me an Orangina at no charge. My friend ordered onion soup and salmon with dill sauce. Both dishes arrived at the same time, and the onion soup was excellent. She finished all the salmon. I ordered the classic filet mignon with Béarnaise sauce and pommes frites. Unfortunately, the meat was cold and, after chewing, I had to place some pieces on a napkin because they were too tough to swallow. The pommes frites and the Berenice sauce were okay, but nothing extraordinary, and the salad was unappetizing. We finished the water, but the waiter did not refill the container. We decided not to try the desserts. The check came to 60 euros, which I suppose is reasonable for Paris. However, I can't recommend this place unless it's just for the onion soup and the Orangina.

honestly mid. saturday evening, i was one person but i made a reservation, it was not necessary though. i had the french onion soup, duck breast with ratatouille, and creme brulee. the soup did not have nearly enough onion in it, more bread than onion inside :( the duck and ratatouille were good i guess, i dont have much to say about it. the sugar on the creme brulee was partly burnt which kind of ruined the taste for me, the creme part was good though. the crust of the bread i was served was soft!!!! :( service was nice enough. the first server i had was nice and attentive, but the others were not very attentive but that’s not a big deal idk they were still nice. they just walked away from the table super quick lol i didnt have time to say anything i needed to to them because they turned tail right away. overall it was okay. i think you can get better elsewhere for the same price. if you are a real foodie then i would probably not recommend.

Our first escargot. The sauce they made was a buttery, garlic sauce and it did not, not taste like crabs. Dipping the French bread they give you in the sauce was good. I had the duck breast. The mashed potatoes were good. The duck... Duck should have a nice crispy skin :l... As you can see, the duck is plated with the skin down and on the sauce. The skin was chewy and not pleasurable to eat, a bit disappointing. Wife had the salad and she was happy. The brownie with ice cream looks great but flavor is not that good. I regret letting my eyes order for my heart haha. I should have gotten the cream brulee. Overall you should try the restaurant, fairly priced. The cappuccino was great!
