I recently visited Deda Tbilisi, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable dining experiences I’ve had in Tbilisi. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and professionalism — special thanks to Nino, the hostess, whose attention, friendliness, and care made the evening even more enjoyable.
The atmosphere captures the essence of Georgian hospitality — cozy, authentic, and tastefully designed with local character. The open kitchen and rustic details make you feel as though you’re dining at a friend’s countryside home.
The food was absolutely outstanding. Every dish was prepared with visible care and served beautifully. The grilled meats were perfectly cooked — juicy and flavorful, with that ideal smoky aroma that defines true Georgian barbecue. The grilled vegetables were rich and sweet, charred just right, and the crispy cheese appetizer was a perfect start to the meal — golden, crunchy outside, soft and melty inside.
Everything was fresh and thoughtfully presented — even the small details like the sliced onions, lavash, and homemade sauces elevated the experience. The pairing with a cold local and imported beer was simply perfect. Wine and other alcohol selection is also good, to enjoy the food.
If you want to experience authentic Georgian cuisine in an atmosphere that combines tradition, quality, and warmth, Deda Tbilisi is the place to go. My highest recommendation — and I’ll definitely be coming back.

Read moreCame here for lunch. I’ve had grilled lamb, tomato&cucumber salad and grilled vegetables. Everything came out to be total disappointment. Lamb was not bad at taste (no smell), but the texture was very chewy, almost rubber-like. Plus, there was only 2 pieces, despite the price of 38 GEL (probably without taxes, unsure about that). The salad was super bland, absolutely tasteless cheapest vegetables, even though they are in season right now. The grilled vegetables were also bland, but the eggplant was straight disgusting — full of oil, like a sponge. No herbs or even salt was used (really weird for a Georgian restaurant, I know). I have to say that the warm bread was actually good. Also, the kebabs my friends ate were also good. However, despite the service was good as well, and the atmosphere is cool, my food was a disaster. Wish I could write a...
Read moreDelicious food ruined by extremely slow service and no attempt to reconcile.
Cons: unfortunately we waited 1hr and 20minutes for food. There was no attempt to rectify the situation. Although the waiter was polite and apologised for the delay - there was no attempt to reconcile, no offer of compensation, not even a word from the manager. We could see a large table ahead of us being served much faster than we were, we witnessed them being given free Chacha shots and this all just intensified the feeling we were being sidelined. It would be unfair to assume this was just because we were quiet and unassuming tourists but it certainly felt that way. What a shame that this let them down.
Pros: the food was delicious. Without a doubt, it is excellent grilled food, made fresh and executed...
