Hinkali Factory (Freedom Square) was a pleasant surprise and twas a good stop before flying out of Tbilisi.
This was our 3rd and last attempt to eat at a Georgian Restaurant because the first 2 tries were just unpleasant that we didn’t even wait to be seated and served, we just walked out!
First off, I liked that the staff stood up and head to prepare a menu as soon as they saw us walking in. We were greeted with smiling faces, guided to be seated and left with enough time to go over the menu, so that gets 5 🌟!
Food was amazing! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Boiled beef khinkali was delicously filling. Adjarian kachapuri was super cheesy and the dough was soft with a touch of sweetness. I enjoyed the kachapuri so much that I wanted to finish it but I was stuffed with the khinkali alone! Meat skewers were good however they could use a little tenderizing. Komput and iced coffee were also a must try!
Menu was written in local and english languages which was great for tourists.
Ambience and interior design are 5 🌟 as well! It was cozy, chic & elegant.
Price range is reasonably appropriate for the taste and serving portions. It’s worth it!
Sweet shoutout to Rima, she was nice and attentive!
Hinkali Factory redeemed Georgian Restaurants reputation to me! I was sure to give up on them but Hinkali Factory proved 3rd time is a...
Read moreI usually don’t leave bad reviews nor complain about mistakes. But it was super bad. The waiter didn’t write anything down from the order so I tried asking him to made sure that he got everything, and even said to bring two of the same dishes, to make it easier for him. Then he only brought one drink instead of two. All good, this happens. We asked for four specific sauces, he brought two other sauces and when asked about it, he said “we don’t have those, but try this, it’s good”. Then the main dish arrived. One was complete (meat, rice, vegetables, etc) and one was only the meat. This is where it became too much. I told him, he said he will bring it. 20 mins later, meat was cold, asked another waiter about the rice, and probably only then they started preparing it as she didn’t know. Only brought me a small portion of rice. Still some stuff missing from the main dish. Of course, at the end, we had to pay for everything, sauces we didn’t eat, full dish I didn’t eat, and of course the 15% hidden tax that is not really legal nowadays anymore. So it was also way more expensive in the end than other places. Overall I had a very, very...
Read moreI had a late night lunch on Friday with my colleague, we work nearby. I was charged 30% more than it was in my cheque, I realized it only after I went back to my workspace and saw my bank message. Came back to see what happened and somehow extra cash was put in Tip box of the waitress, as tipped amount. I have never felt this much disrespected in my own city, in my neighborhood. They explained to me it was a mistake but most likely during the weekend nights costumers are drunk and they do not take care of how much they pay, or they do not come back to argue. Service was really slow....
