We went to Otsy on the basis of glowing recommendations and the perception of it being a somewhat sophisticated establishment. What we were met with was a place where you find what you’re not looking for when on holiday and going into it with the expects set in a certain way (as supported by their pricing): loud American tourists whose conversations I could hear across the entire dining room.
The pictures that are heavily marketed are not representative of the vibe - in fact that part of the restaurant was not open. The choice was between a loud, cramped indoor dining room and the terrace. All in all, not what we were expecting.
The menu was appealing but the portions and prices could have been smaller/lower to allow for the supra/sharing concept to shine. Instead the portions are large (as in most georgian restaurants) and the price tag accordingly. Whilst we enjoyed our food for the most part, the seasoning (beef cheeks) could be better and the salmon baklava could have done with half the amount of béarnaise sauce. I would recommend 1/4 of the sauce and add your incredible potato purée instead.
The wine list was decent but the prices are well above average for similar types of restaurants and the guidance for the type of restaurant it tries to be leaves much to be desired for.
The service felt impersonal, rushed and chaotic.
All things considered, i only want to urge you to not buy into the glowing reviews and appetising pictures. It is far from the reality and refinement that the place seeks to display. There are far superior restaurants in the city for the same price or less that are deserving of your praise and visit. This unfortunately was the biggest disappointment of our otherwise very positive georgian...

Embarking on a gastronomic journey at the hands of Chef Giorgi Ninua is a true revelation. Renowned for his ability to seamlessly blend traditional Georgian cuisine with contemporary nuances, Ninua's creations never fail to enthrall his guests.
Two particularly memorable dishes that warrant attention include the "shkmeruli" - a savory chicken dish expertly paired with a unique garlic caramel sauce, and the "suki" - an incredibly tender beef fillet cooked to perfection. Both plates are not just meals, they are experiences, presented with craftsmanship and ingenuity indicative of the chef's keen culinary artistry.
Adding to the allure is the exquisite selection of Georgian wines. A pleasant surprise was the introduction of Château Mukhrani Parfum d'Ete, a sublime Georgian white wine with a French flavor that exceeded all expectations. The offerings of top-quality Kindzmarauli and Khvanchkara are equally impressive, with the latter possessing delightful notes of linden tree flowers. The impressive array of exquisite wines is conveniently available by the glass, ensuring a perfectly matched pairing with every course.
Dessert at Ninua's table is a treat for the senses, offering innovative and delectably indulgent options. To top it all off, the establishment serves the finest cappuccino in Tbilisi and steeped loose-leaf tea, staying true to its insistence on quality and authenticity down to the last drop.
In conclusion, dining under Chef Giorgi Ninua's direction is nothing short of spectacular. His artistic flair in the culinary world, coupled with top-tier wine offerings and exceptional beverages, makes for an unrivaled dining...
Read moreVisited Otsy a couple of times during my trip to Tbilisi in Apr 2024
Located right next to the famous clock tower in central Tbilisi, Otsy is a restaurant which has been making a name for itself in the recent past. Do make a reservation (WhatsApp or phone call) before going to make sure you have a table as this place seems quite popular.
Over my 2 visits, I tried: Starters: Crab & Avocado, Pumpkin Cappuccino soup Mains: Braised Beef Cheeks, Salmon Bakhlava Desserts: Mandarin Creme Brûlée, Homemade sorbets
The food is quite good here and in my view, the portion sizes are totally fine. I really liked the braised beef main dish as the beef was really soft and tender. Would definitely recommend folks to order the braised beef course. Also loved the sorbet dessert as it had 3 scoops of sweet and sour sorbets. The only dish which was a little bit off for my taste buds was the Salmon Bakhlava which felt a little saltier (than expected) to me.
For drinks, I tried a couple of Georgian white wines here and the Tvishi semi-sweet was my favourite among them.
Service is really good here. The waiters and waitresses constantly check on you if you need anything and if everything is okay.
Overall, this is a very decent restaurant which I would recommend to folks visiting Tbilisi. While it wasn’t the best meal I had in Tbilisi, I think Otsy is a place definitely...
