This small family warung was so caring and lovely, and their authentic Indonesian meals are cheap and hearty. They speak a bit of English, and the younger staff are fluent, which is helpful for communicating dietary restrictions. I'm Singaporean Australian and I've had a LOT of curry in my life, and their kare ayam (chicken curry) was the best I've ever had. They always made it fresh for me (because I ordered mild) and I think they farm a lot of their own ingredients. My partner loved their mie goreng and nasi campur. We stayed on Jalan Bisma so we'd walk past them everytime we were heading or returning from the main road. After our first visit they'd recognise us and the mother/owner would always smile and wave at us when we passed by. They're so hardworking with such long hours be it breakfast at 9am or dinner at 8pm. We visited regularly during our week's stay in Ubud, loving the quiet place and quaint peaceful atmosphere of their table by the rice paddy view and hearing the crikets and birds chirp. On our last day we got some extra snacks for our flight and they were so generous as to offer them as complimentary. It warms my heart to see that they've also brightened the stay of other tourists in these reviews, and I hope to see their family business to thrive and be appreciated. We will definitely be back next time we return, they were such a highlight...
