We recently visited Kwee Zeen at Sofitel Nusa Dua for their Christmas Day brunch, and unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations.
The venue was uncomfortably hot, with no air conditioning to provide relief—something that detracted from the festive ambiance we were hoping for. Despite having a booking for three people, our table was only set for two when we arrived. It took multiple requests before the staff rectified this, which set a disappointing tone for the meal.
Service was slow and unorganized. It took nearly 45 minutes to be served drinks that were part of the package, and even getting water refills was a challenge. The staff appeared to be mostly daily workers who seemed undertrained, which impacted the overall flow and quality of service.
The buffet itself showed signs of neglect, with cracked plates—a detail that was surprising and disheartening to see at a venue of this caliber.
What we missed most was the warm, personable service we’ve come to expect from other venues in Bali. The experience felt rushed and impersonal, which was disappointing given the premium pricing and reputation of the Sofitel brand.
While the menu offered a variety of dishes, the overall execution and attention to detail left much to be desired. It’s a shame, as Kwee Zeen has potential, but this experience didn’t live up to the standards we were...
Read moreAnother wonderful restaurant at Sofitel. We had breakfast here each day - what an incredible selection of options. Noodles, Indian, dumplings, pastries, cereals, fruit, make your own smoothies plus so much more!!! We were always greeted so friendly every time we went. It was so lovely. The lunch menu (which had just been updated) was so extensive so we never had to eat the same thing twice as we were on voucher. Such amazing options and again so many multi cultural options. I had risotto one day which was unfortunately too much for me and couldn't finish it. The staff thought it was because I didn't like it (absolutely not the case) but the fact they took such Pride in the food and the satisfaction of their guests was so nice to see. We had dinner here twice - both times we opted for the buffet - fabulous!!!! Everything was so tasty. One night was a special night were there was a show with traditional dance and music - it was beautiful. We also took part in the cooking class which was wonderful. Our son took part too, it was a fun family activity. Every staff member again...
Read moreWent for Christmas brunch. Bear in mind with the non alcoholic ‘package’, you can ONLY have water. This was not advertised and came as a shock. The word ‘package’ implies a selection.
It took nearly an hour to receive my first cocktail after asking 3 different servers. We weren’t given a welcome drink and had to ask half way through our meal (surprise - those who got the non-alcoholic package got nothing!)
Curries were limited, deserts were unvaried, turkey was pink and undercooked. There were very few fans so it felt humid and stuffy with so many people crammed in. There was an overall lack of decorum and class for Christmas dinner at a 5* resort.
For 1/1.5 million rupiah, plus tax and service per person, depending on the package (it was nearly 3 million rupiah for 2 people), it’s ABSOLUTELY not worth it. Possibly the worst value for money for anything I have ever...
