Me and my friends had gone in here last night to enjoy a pint after our dinner, we had an hour to kill before we went somewhere else. We essentially split into two, 4 of us went to get doughnuts whilst the others went into the pub to get seats. So when me and my three other friends arrive to the group after eating our doughnuts. We sit down at the table and begin chatting. I had in mind to order a pint but I was just going to wait until the friends that had been there finished theirs so we could do a round together. After sitting down in the pub for maybe five minutes, this pretentious Eastern European young-wan comes up to us, counts how many people are at the table, and how many drinks we have (5) and just ruins our experience by saying some bs along the lines of “now I’m seeing 10 people here but you guys only have five drinks, so if yous all don’t get a drink then you’re just gonna have to leave” and then walked upstairs and didn’t even offer us a drinks menu or if we wanted to order anything. This was as we had basically just sat down at the table. The place wasn’t busy either it was a Thursday night. We obviously decided after that hostile customer service experience that we’re getting out of here. She then came back down maybe 5 minutes later and we said that we were just gonna go after the drinks we had already bought were done and that she just ruined our experience tbh. She began to apologize if her rude remarks came off the wrong way. And blamed that her manager would give out to her if they see that the table has half empty drinks. At the very end she began crying over it to one of my friends. Just a weird experience. But this just leads me to believe that this is a regular stunt pulled in this pub on, obviously on rich tourists, and she was just shocked that we didn’t fall for it. Honestly just can’t get over the way we were treated and the weird experience that the staff gave us. From other reviews this seems lots of customers have bad experiences with the staffs pretentiousness and rudeness. I work in customer service and I just can’t imagine treating any customer the way she spoke to us last night. Just...

Love this bar - great music (rock and meta) and vibe (dark and candlelit) but it’s let down by the staff - particularly the lad with the hat and beard (all the others are lovely tbf).

This lad should stick to pulling pints as he’s clearly a bit clueless about the customer service aspect of things - he tried to refuse entry to me and a friend one time after seeing us defend ourselves from an attempted mugging by the gang of drug dealers that hangs around outside the circle k across the street. We were well-dressed, clearly not drunk and explained our situation, he only relented when another friend who was already inside came out and vouched for us.

Given the circumstances I understand that incident.. until a few months later (with several visits in between), this genius cut me off after 2 drinks, saying he’d been watching me and I’d had enough. I was completely coherent and not even tipsy at this stage. Fair enough, bar staff have to make judgement calls like this and sometimes they get it wrong, whatever. Except this lad continues to serve my friend who was clearly tipsy!

Long story short, great bar,...

Went shopping today in the city.. Shame i wore fitted tracksuit bottoms.. Rainy day wanted comfort... Dark green tracksuit bottoms... No logos.. Side pocket.. Got turned away at the door at 4.30ish... Managements policy no sweatpants /tracksuit bottoms ... Just to let you know... Sweatpants.. denim jacket.. tshirt and vans.. I wasnt wearing a matching full on nike tracksuit.. Went to another bar and had the spontaneous drinks.. Dress policy was ok.. Even to the fact i said im wearing tracksuit bottoms.. Was told yeah but i am wearing tracksuit bottoms and was told yeah they look good.. Had fun.... Shame on cassidys i clearly wasnt a troublemaker but it was hurtful in the moment .. Especially as its a casual style bar...hipters etc.. but the worker was ok just following managements rules about it... Even informed me to go to pennys and buy some jeans... hahahahaha.. no... you are fine more bars to go to... Even people on the terrace were shocked and one even said i have ripped shorts on... Lost out on 75 euro.. Clearly not afriad to turn away customers on a not busy Monday.. . Went to dame...

Cassidy’s Pub is an absolute gem in the heart of Dublin! The atmosphere is unbeatable — lively, welcoming, and full of character. The decor is quirky and fun, with great music and a crowd that always seems to be in good spirits. The staff are super friendly and make you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. Service is fast, even when the place is packed, and the pints are always poured to perfection (especially the Guinness!). It’s the perfect spot for a night out with friends or a casual drink after work. There’s a great mix of locals and visitors, which gives it that authentic Dublin vibe. Cassidy’s has quickly become one of my favourite pubs in the city — if you’re in Dublin 2, don’t miss it!

Wooow, what a pub. I've been delighted with this place. Alternative Rock music fits completely the interior. This place has its own soul which you can see and feel in every inch of the walls, floor, furniture and its all surrounded with candle light. The most variety of people from 18-67 years old, from a punker to a lawyer and they all get along with each other sharing fun and laugh enjoying their beer. And now the most peculiar part, every table has a different board game on, like cluedo, jenga, pictionary, cards and so on. So imagine this, candle light, your favorite cold beer, best friends, Rock music and a game of pictionary :)
