Go to any other eddie rockets, just not this one. I’m not one to complain, but absolutely shocking behaviour from the front of house/security man. Myself and my boyfriend were seated at the back by the security that clearly has an attitude problem. We suddenly got a call and we had to be somewhere asap. We hadn’t placed an order yet so we grabbed our stuff and started walking to the front and it was clear we were in a rush to get out. While walking I didn’t want the waitress at the till to get the wrong idea so I quickly explained “we were sitting at that back table, we haven’t ordered food or anything but something has come up and we really have to go I’m sorry” to which the security walked over to me, way too close might I add, and started shouting at me in front of the whole diner that we were leaving because of the table he gave us (we were offered the first booth at the door first and I politely asked for something further back because of the wind) I told him that it was not about the table and that what he is doing is not normal and he continued to raise his voice. A grown man. Shouting at a young woman. To the point where my boyfriend had to step in because it was not normal how he was speaking to me.
I have never experienced anything like this before. Eddie rocket’s really needs to rethink some of their staff, to think he is the one greeting customers and the first person that customers see when they walk in is absolutely shocking and...

The food was fine, the staff however on the day we visited (06/09/2015 @ 12:40) were borderline pig ignorant, We were standing at the " Wait to be Seated" sign for about 15 minutes while the staff went out of their way not to acknowledge us, heads down staring at their sjoes at any point where eye contact was in danger, Eventually my wife and I decided to seat ourselves at a nearby free table as our children tired and had sore feet, We then got 4 menus literally thrown at us by a blonde girl who made no attempt to hide her disdain that we were inconveniencing her day by daring to want food in a diner at lunchtime.
It wasn't just us either, several other people waited a considerable amount of time at the door despite there being plenty of free tables, and were either completely ignored or at one point a bearbed man came out from behind the kitchen, grunted at them from several tables away, and when they failed to hear him stormed off in a huff without any attempt to make himself heard.
The only person in the place who treated customers like human beings was a security guard who turned up about 20 minutes after we were seated and was polite to customers at least acknowledging their existence with a smile.
This is a real shame as the food was nice, but I will go to a restaurant in the future where the staff don't treat their customers...
Read more*Update: I did get a response from restaurant, which they have since deleted, saying they were not happy to hear of my experience and to email them. I did. The response.was about as good as thenserbice we reveived in the restaurant- they were not genuinely interested that we had had a poor experience. They didn't even bother to ask for details so not sure how you can investigate without facts.
Visited the O'Connell Street restaurant on early evening of Monday 21st. Male member of staff couldn't even be bothered to walk to the front to greet us, instead gesturing with fingers and pointing out a booth, before plonking some menus down and walking away. Didn't even speak a single word to us. Face looked like we were an inconvenience. Female member of staff led 2 girls to a table, and looked equally as inconvenienced. Restaurant smelt of old, over used cooking oil and felt dull, and a bit dirty. No atmosphere and staff looked miserable. Decided for the prices we wouldn't bother and left. Saw the staff talking about us because we left. Maybe if they'd made some effort we'd have stayed but didn't actually look like they wanted the inconvenience of customers 🤷🏻♀️Not at all the fun and cheerful vibe and bright atmosphere you'd have expected from a diner marketing as a 1950s diner. Dull, greasy...
