Very disappointing service provided by Govinda's Abbey Street Dublin and if you try to complain the email address they provide and which is shown on Google is the wrong email of Houston Texas from which you receive rude replies.

Just been to your Abbey Street, dublin ireland store to purchase lunch today. It is the first time I was disappointed by one of your employees.

I have asked for a small takeaway, as such asked for rice+dhal+ selection of 2 per your menu.

I paid and was not given a receipt. So I asked for it and saw I was charged eur9.95. I went to check your price list and confirmed that I should have been charged eur6.95. Went back to the guy who served me and I explained why I was charged for a large takeaway rather than a small which is what I ordered. He said he gave me a large portion. I explained the reason I asked for 2 sides per your price list and said "enough " after that is because I wanted a small. Despite this I was still charged 9.95 .so I asked for the difference to be refunded . He said he can add the food which I had to accept. Per picture attached the container does not seem the large takeaway portion to me, I have been coming to govindas for years and have seen your portions in the past.

I am writing this not for the money but for the principle about which I got very annoyed because this is not the way I know this place, which has now really put me off.

I had to ask for the receipt myself, I asked for one portion type and was charged for another and the person serving (if it is true that container size is a big portion, which does not look like it to me) didn't take the initiative to tell me that I could be served more for what he charged ignoring my request. It looks like the staff you are operating with now are totally different than the nice ladies who were there before, or your strategy has changed.

I contacted the email showing on the website to complai: Hello@govindashou.com (which I also verified by phone) only to receive an email reply saying this email is of the shop in...

I was excited to try this place as it'd been highly reviewed. I enjoyed the flavors, but unfortunately, it was the inconsistency of service in which soured my experience. I ordered a small plate, and the guy behind the counter helping me was rationing the portions. When he scooped too much of the lasagna-like dish, he had unscooped and began to half it. It's a flat plate and what I was served was just enough to cover the plate. A man behind me in line also ordered a small plate, but received almost double my portion, piled high, and paid the same amount. I had an injury at the time of dining here, and was clearly limping my way around. When I made my way to one end of the counter to ask for the Wi-Fi, the same guy who had served me, pointed me to go to the opposite end by the cash register to read the Wi-Fi password from a piece of paper. I asked if he could just enter it into my phone or read it to me so I don'thave to limp over to the other end. He continued to point me to go across to the other end. Rating this place 2 stars because of the lack of good service, I would not repeat...

We recently ate at Govinda's. It is a pure vegetarian restaurant. They have two kinds of meals: a Small Plate and Large Plate. We chose the Large Plate, it came with rice, dhal, and 5 sides. The food was amazing, and we really liked the paneer, it wasn't loaded with spice and oil and was very gentle on the stomach. The atmosphere was peaceful and the staff were nice. But they didn't have chapati or naan bread, which some people might miss. The price is reasonable and the large plate is more than enough for one person. They have some nice desserts as well. We had Shrikhand which was delicious. In short, if you want a yummy, easy-on-the-stomach vegetarian meal in a calm place with good service, this restaurant is a great choice.

Came here for lunch when was craving for Indian food. Great location, staffs are super friendly. Coming to food they have 3 types of plate, small, medium and large. We went for medium place . This comes with rice , dal and 4 items. Food was amazing. It was typical Indian home made food like. It was not spicy and hot , and not oily. Even though the quantity was good but didn't feel heavy after the lunch. For dessert, had Shrikhand and cheese cake. Both were just amazing. Thank you for the beautiful food experience. I would say please do visit this place if you want to experience how home made Indian vegetarian food tastes, healthy and light on stomach. Would definitely recommend this place.
