One of the best pubs in Dublin! Alot of pubs in Dublin have lost their character and their soul. The pipers is an oddity in that way as it is a new pub with alot of character and alot of soul! Something which is very rare for new places these days!
The staff are so nice and so attentive. They know all the locals and welcome all the tourists too. The prices are respectful considering the current situation. They know how to pull the best pint and they know how to look after the many different kinds of people that go there. Either a quiet pint or a chat about your day is all above board.
Not only all of this but the music is exceptional too, with no pagentry or bravado. Drinkers arent shushed which could annoy some, but it makes for an open audience and when the music is going for it, the people listen attentively. This makes a more authentic silence than a forced one. Brilliant atmosphere, delicious creamy pints, legend sound bar staff, exceptionally authentic trad, somehow all wrapped in a hipstery plywood package!
Best local in town!

Read moreI was here for the first time recently on a Thursday evening both before and after a concert I attended in the Pro-Cathedral nearby. I was pleased to find a good selection of craft beers on offer, both on draught and in bottles, as well as the standard beverages. Service was friendly and efficient pre-concert and was even more deferential and obliging post-concert when I requested some food and coffees late in the evening for two of the people who were with me. As its name implies, Pipers' Corner is a venue for traditional musicians who have a corner of the seating area near the window reserved for their sessions from about 9.00pm. A few of these players were there when I returned post-concert. However, their music-making was unamplified, unlike most of the torturous "'Oirish" drivvle pumped out of touristy pubs in places like Temple Bar etc. As such, it was unintrusive and we were able to have a conversation in our section of the pub. After this initial positive experience of Pipers' Corner, I'm looking forward to...
Read moreMyself and a few of my work friends were out last Thursday for a few drinks after a meal. We went into this pub as we normally do. It's a great bar for some live music and we always considered the staff to be friendly. This time we went in and noticed that there was a sign on one of the tables that said reserved for 20:30. Seeing as it was well past 9 we just decided to head over and wait to ask if it's ok to sit down. A long haired barman came up to one of my colleagues and said "can you not read the fxcking Sign? It says it's reserved". Honestly, if he had of came over to us and had been a bit more respectful, we wouldn't have mind at all. After that incident, we came across a table that was free. But with the attitude of that barman, we decided to take our business elsewhere. We always taught that the Piper's Corner was a friendly place, unfortunately that's not the case. We went to another bar with friendly staff who where more than...
