Our Irish friend bought us here. Great pub with great vibes. Great location. Ground floor and underground were all full the day when we went. Super busy because there were premium league football match on show. You can really feel the IRISH HEAT!! 😊 GUINNESS for sure is the most popular beer in IRELAND!! Haven’t tried their food yet. Will definitely try next time!

Nice old Dublin pub, with a good mix of local regulars and tourists alike, a relaxing ambiance, easy to find a seat and to start the chat with other customers, it's that kind of friendly pub, no pretensions. Ordered a Franciscans Red Ale, was ok, served fine and fast. Nice bar, and was good to take a breather with a cold beer, while we rested the feet.

Headed in here for a pint last week. It was early afternoon so it wasn't busy. We were treated well and the place was reasonably clean, apart from the bathrooms, which were a bit dirty, especially the cubicle wall, which was so dirty there was 3 bluebottles living on it. Apart from that, its a nice little place.

I really love this pub and I didn’t want to give a negative review. However, I would really like to alert management to an issue I had with the female bar staff that was on last night.

I was trying to help a table of blind people order drinks as the bar was busy around last orders. I had been helped before by a lovely man working there who was very understanding of the situation.

I had gone up to the bar to place that tables order and see if they could drop the card machine down to them. I explained the situation, very clearly and politely to the young woman. She looked at me strangely, so I repeated myself, thinking she hadn’t heard. She rolled her eyes and said ā€œno you can’tā€. The woman then pointed at the man who I had been served by through out the night and walked away.

This is something that needs to be said to management not only in terms of customer service but in terms of humanity. This group would have really struggled ordering drinks at a busy bar, risking their canes being stepped on and they may have had difficulty going through the compact space. It was very sad to see. I hope this is not how she treats disabled groups and it was just an off day for her.

Despite this the gentleman at the bar who was helping throughout to night was such a kind and understanding man so a big...

I would like to give the food and atomosphete a higher rating but I wouldn’t know what they’re like. 3 stars for food as I did not try it. I had a bad experience here with my friends recently and I’m sure you’ll see their reviews next to mine. This place needs some serious work, the decor was ok at best and that’s the only nice thing I will be saying for the remainder of the review. The bar man was very bitter and passive aggressive, using more mumbles and gibberish than words. This is not nice for your first time in a pub as it makes you feel extremely unwelcome. From his tone I could guess he was actually quite annoyed we ordered a drink. We only stayed for a short time and in that time we got some ā€œreassuranceā€ that the barman is simply ā€œlike thatā€. That is not good enough and they need to turn this place around if they want returning customers. The fact this place is in the ā€œhospitalityā€ industry is a joke in itself as there’s nothing friendly about it. I’d give them 0 stars if possible,...

My father worked in the Flowing Tide for 3 years in 1958. Yesterday we went in for a trip down memory lane and had the great pleasure of meeting Martin the Manager. He knew the whole history of the pub and all the past owners. His service was excellent. As locals walked in he had their pints on. He was constantly scanning the bar to make sure all his customers were ok. Every person walking in that door got a warm welcome, a chat and great service. It made my fathers day. What an amazing asset to the bar. The old style barman. As for the premises. They have all been done up. The place was spotless with an old world atmosphere as if time had stood still with the blending of the new. There is a lovely well decorated smoking are. A fantastic array of beers on tap. It doesn't do food but if you want to experience a traditional and friendly Dublin pub with a terrific atmosphere then pop into the Flowing Tide, and we hope Martin is on duty. He made my fathers...
