If you want to get yourself and your guests embarrassed and completely disrespected you should definitely book your evening in Zozimus. I was looking for a place for my leaving party and eventually ended up with two bookings - one in Zozimus ans one in Sams, next door. Unfortunately decided to go with the first one... So Zozimus has this "over 25 YO only door policy", which when I noticed it on the email was a bit of a problem because I knew some people in my group will be slightly younger (all over 20 though). Sensing a potential issue I emailed Zozimus asking how strict they are on this policy; the response I got (and still have) was that I should not worry about it. Well, unfortunately when my friends showed up at the door they were stopped and turned down. No amount of explaining and showing the email from their own management was of any use with the doormen nor the manager on the night - Shane. When I was trying to reason with him Shane got very defensive and tried to convince us that the admission age was actually 27... This was of course just a manoeuvre to get rid of us as the email clearly states it 25 YO. Shane eventually got very rude and proceeded to insinuate that this situation is somehow our fault (at that point I had just over a pint so no drunken arguments were taking place). As a a part of our group got turned down in this disgraceful manner, there was nothing for us to do but to leave, feeling completely embarrassed. There is a happy ending to this story however as we went next door to Sams and their very helpful staff organised a table for us even though it was busy. At the end we had a great time, its just a shame I hadn't booked with them in the first place. As for Zozimus, I wont be...
Read moreI don't write reviews lightly, but I felt our trip here last night warranted one. We were lucky enough to get out and do a bar crawl throughout the day yesterday, and this place was most certainly the standout place or us. Staff and management were just on point.! We must have visited about 6 different places across town, most were pleasant, but in the first place we waited at our table and it took almost 10 minutes to come to us to take a drinks and food order, then we went to pygmalion for cocktails, in fairness there cheaper but again took 10 minutes before anyone came over to take an order. Gas thing was when they did, they introduced a sly 2 euro for table service but when you go to the bar to order they tell you we don't take orders at the bar directly đ But the staff in zozimus were class at what they did, we had a bar man Anthony i think, excellent customer service very knowledgeable on his menu and drinks receipes, even one he created for us was top notch. But also leaving we had a mix up with jackets and my house keys were in my coat and someone else walked out with it, the manager himself while busy in the place checked cameras and went down the road to retrieve back for us. Above and beyond service, the place seems to have great comradery and atmosphere for that. Thanks for a great night and doing your jobs well by...

It takes about 20 minutes to get served at the bar even when it is relatively quiet. The bar staff spend most of their time spinning cocktail shakers around their arms instead of paying attention to who has been waiting for the longest. If you question them in any way (I asked one of the bar staff if I was standing in the wrong place) you will get your head bitten off so It's not worth it - they're EXTREMELY rude.
I've been to Zozimus with a party of people twice (not my choice) and I had exactly the same experience both times. The people I was there with would come back from the bar about 30 minutes later and comment on the wait and how rude the staff were to them. We finally all agreed to leave and go to House which has a much nicer atmosphere with very friendly staff, and you won't wait any longer than 5 minutes for a drink, even though the bar is twice as busy...
