In the middle of the bustling streets of Osaka, hidden between fragrant Izakayas and small boutiques, lies a very special jewel: a tiny but incredibly charming restaurant specializing in something that you might not expect immediately – spaghetti. But not just any spaghetti – here they are prepared with care, passion and refinement, which is usually found only in the best Italian cuisine.
As soon as you enter, you can feel the warmth of the place. The gentle clutter of dishes, quiet jazz music in the background and the inviting smile of the two employees immediately create a feeling of home. The two – always cheerful, attentive and with a heartfelt laugh on their lips – welcome each guest as if he were an old friend who finally stopped by after a long time.
Spaghetti itself is a small work of art: perfect al dente, in a sauce that tastes both deep and light – whether with fresh tomatoes, creamy carbonara or a Japanese-inspired miso-butter variant, which can only be found here. Each portion tells of the love for detail, dedication to cooking and the desire to bring joy to the plate.
This small restaurant in Osaka is more than just a place to eat – it is a place to stay, smile, enjoy. A piece of cordiality in a big city. Those who were once here leave with a full stomach and a warm heart – and with the firm intention of coming...
Read moreDidn’t want to venture far from our hotel and found this gem. No one in my family, even my wife wanted pasta, so I went myself and it was a great decision. The two gentlemen running the place were exceptional with their hospitality. Got a recommendation, went with it and was not disappointed. The thick meat cream sauce with porcini mushrooms and Australian black beef meat balls was chefs kiss. The spaghetti was cooked to perfection with that al dente firmness and had that creaminess that I couldn’t stop savoring over. The portion was pretty hefty and usually I don’t ever finish something of that size, I wanted more. The only downside and it’s just personal preference maybe is that I wish the meatballs were as hot as the pasta but it didn’t take anything away from the dish but that’s how almost if not all places have their meatballs. Other than that I love coming to Japan and having the people of this land have their take on other countries...
Read moreThe staff here were very kind and helpful - thank you for your kind service. But unfortunately the food did not meet our expectations.
We were desperate for some Italian food after two weeks of eating Japanese food, but I would not return here.
I ordered the carbonara and it sadly did not taste like a carbonara pasta. Authentic carbonara is a very basic dish. The sauce is made with egg yolk that is combined with quality pecorino cheese and parmasan, with a splash of pasta water and splash of hot bacon fat.
Unfortunately this restaurant do not use fresh Parmesan, they instead use Parmesan from a “Kraft” tub - it is tasteless and really changes the flavour of the dish. The carbonara should also not be sitting in a large amount of liquid at the bottom of the bowl.
My partner had the meatball dish which was much tastier, so I would advise anyone to get more of a tomato based pasta if you decide...
