Asakusa Dòuhuā King — Restaurant in Tokyo

Excellent tofu pudding (豆腐花) place! Actually one of the best I’ve tried in Japan, and I’ve tried several. The tofu pudding was done just right, smooth and silky, the syrup wasn’t overly sweet, with great options for toppings. The tofu pudding as well as some other dishes were gluten free and diary free, which one of my family members required. They had a bubble tea that was made with soy milk (instead of the usual milk!) which was absolutely delicious.

The interior is small and cozy. There was a sign on the wall in Japanese encouraging customers to finish all their food or ask them for a takeout option, which I’m happy to see, as Japan has very, very few places that allow you to take away food once you’ve sat down to eat. I’ll definitely...

Whilst the dessert was good, the owner wouldn’t allow me to sit with my husband and child unless I ordered something. It’s not like there was a queue at the door and I was taking up someone’s seat.I had to leave as I didn’t order anything. We would not go back and wouldn’t recommend this place due to the rudeness of the owner. There are many better places to have...

The food is quite authentic and delicious, however the staff in the hall isn't very friendly - don't expect the same level of service as you would have in Japan. It's a pity that this point made us a bit uncomfortable in the store.
