Yorozu Chaya was absolutely delicious! It is definitely worth the wait.
The moment you walk into the restaurant you will see a yellow door and you are required to ring the door bell. The very kind gentleman opens the door and has you take a seat.
We came in on. Sunday at 9am and there was only 1 other table taken. I loved how this location is open earlier than others around the area.
I would recommend looking through their website and exploring the menu of the day. The food is soo fresh and made to order. It does take a little while for the food to come out because the same person that seats you, is the same person that cooks the meals, and the same person is the cashier. But at the end of it all this place is worth a try.
My son and I places two orders the milk butter pancakes chocolate banana and the strawberry banana pancakes. To our surprise they come with vanilla ice cream on top. They were finger licking food!!! Along with a juice and coffee we ended up paying around 4,000 yen.
We were in a rush and had to eat them in a hurry because they do take a while to make. And we had to sneak our head into the kitchen curtain to let the cook know we had to pay because our ride had arrived.
If I had to do it all over again, I would come back with much more time in our hands. But hands down 5/5 stars. We came out with a smile in our face and a...
Read moreDiscovered this place after missing out on a reservation at Benitsuru. Thought this spot could be the saving grace.
Pro tip: Benitsuru takes reservations from 8.30am. So if you want to get a seat, come early and get a spot, else be prepared to wait until late in the afternoon for a slot.
But no, it wasnât. Super overpriced pancakes that was not saved by the taste either. Very ordinary run of the mill stuff that you could probably get at your local Lawson. Worse still the shop artificially raises the price of your order by forcing you to order 1 pancake per person which is fair but what was in bad taste was the shop forces you to order 3 overpriced sides (440„ to 1,000+„ per side) to go with your pancake for each pancake. So you had to order six sides. To top it off, you must also order 1 drink per person.
We spent $5000 yen for two pancakes and two cups of teas. It was a waste of money and with the huge portion of sides a huge waste of tummy space considering the plethora of other great food in Tokyo.
In short, stay away, or be prepared to...
Read moreI think that the pancakes served at this hole-in-the-wall gem of a spot are genuinely some of the best in Tokyo.
The fruits were fresh and generously decorated the shop's signature pancakes, which were incredibly soft an masterfully cooked to perfection. The strawberry pancakes are served with what I believe to be a homemade strawberry sauce that pairs wonderfully with the mild tartness of the freshly cut strawberries -an immediate favorite and a highly recommended!
The shop is perfect with one minor caveat: the seating space is very limited, and wait times for both entering the store and being served tend to be on the longer side. This is by no means a fault of the two-man operation running this place and doesn't affect the experience in any negative way -good food takes time after all- but it is worth noting if you intend on visiting. Leave ample time for swinging by; it's not a quick stop!
All in all, excellent food, friendly service, and well worth the...
