Seendard by Lao Derm - Luang Prabang — Restaurant in Luang Prabang

We loved the BBQ we had at this restaurant. This was only our second time having this type of food and our waiter Year was fantastic as he took his time to explain the different options to us so we knew what was best to order. The meat was delicious and another thing I noticed was that despite the food lying on our table for quite a while as were eating there were zero flies which was great as there’s nothing more annoying that constantly trying to swat flies whist eating a meal. The ambience of the place was top class. There was a brilliant live band playing great music and the volume was perfect. Not too loud so we could still chat. The barbecue was excellent, the place is beautiful and we had the chance to have live music the night we went there. Special thanks to the service that was outstanding ! They handled the barbecue for us perfeclty.

There was actual a small misunderstanding from us at the begining regarding this. As we didn't know that the staff should do the barbecue for us, we ask the waiter if we could do it ourself so he went away. But they sent somebody else and we think they may have understood we were not happy with the first person, which is not true (he was really nice). We just didn't understood how it was supose to be.

Great vibe, great staff, immensely friendly service. It’s a shame this was the worst bbq I’ve had though. We got the beef pork and vegetable package. The steak was very tough unfortunately and the pork pieces were very thin and very fatty. With their table side grills slow to come up to temperature there’s a lot of effort scraping these thin slices off the cooking surface and a fair amount of work for what’s unfortunately some pretty low quality beef and pork. Also note that off season, they don’t have any live entertainment. Service was phenomenal though - friendly and attentive. They need better meat and this joint...
