My food experience at this cafe was lousy even though service was great and atmosphere was good. My kids and I are from New Zealand and we are here on holiday. So we know exactly what Fish and Chips, Caesar salad and Big breakfast are supposed to taste like. We were misled into thinking that London Cafe was English because of the name and the English menu which prompted us to go in for lunch but the Caesar salad was not what we call Caesar salad back home. The fancy lettuce was soaking in mayonnaise and the chicken which I hardly ate was like flat pieces of bread squares and when questioned was told it is chicken ham whatever that means😳 The price was steep for what I received. It was food fit for a rabbit! The Fish and Chips wasn't any better because the fish was over done and tasted bland and rubbery. Not sure why there was a big serving of salad dressing or tartan sauce when tomato sauce would have been much better for the chips. The Big breakfast was slightly better compared to the other meals mentioned above and the price was reasonable.
So we now know that the English Pub cafe doesn't live up to its name. I hope my review will help other travellers to make wise decisions and not get disappointed like we were. We certainly won't be going back unless the cafe make some changes to accommodate the Western palette in a true Western style. An example would be the Caesar salad. Where was the egg?
