I had the most delightful dining experience at L'mida Marrakech during my trip. This restaurant exceeded all expectations and offered the most amazing food I've tasted during my journey.
The mains were an absolute treat. The Makhani Beef Tajin was a burst of flavors with tender meat and rich spices that danced on the palate. The Chicken Skewers were succulent and perfectly seasoned, showcasing the mastery of the chef. The Gnocchi Berber was a unique twist that combined Moroccan flavors with Italian influences, resulting in a harmonious and delightful dish. The addition of the Pull Mechoui further elevated the experience, bringing a succulent and tender lamb dish that was a true delight.
For starters, the Moroccan Kefta Meatballs were a true delight. The blend of spices and textures made for a tantalizing appetizer that set the tone for the rest of the meal. However, the true star of the starters was the Cheese Brioutes. This dish was a revelation - the perfect balance of sweet and salty, creating an unforgettable explosion of flavors in each bite. It was my personal favorite and a must-try recommendation.
The overall ambiance and service at L'mida Marrakech were equally exceptional. The staff was attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall dining experience. The restaurant's atmosphere added to the charm, creating a cozy and inviting space to savor the incredible cuisine.
I cannot recommend L'mida Marrakech enough to anyone seeking an extraordinary dining experience. The menu offers a wide array of dishes that celebrate Moroccan flavors with innovative twists, and the Cheese Brioutes, in particular, are a must-try. With the addition of the Pull Mechoui, the culinary journey is elevated to new heights. It's a gem that should not be missed during your visit...
Read moreFirst of all, the food was very decent, the view from the rooftop was great. But I've had better Tajine in restaurants the local guides took us in Fez or Tanger, in restaurants which looked like local places that Moroccans would enjoy. If it's not for the rooftop view, you can see this restaurant and it's the mostly European/western clientele in any major western city as your local "Moroccan restaurant". The reason I still gave overall 5 stars? It does what it does, food is decent, service is great, the view is good. This still is a good experience to try out. Cannot fault in anyway.
Sure, it seems very westernised but the whole old city of Marrakech seems to be catering toward tourists at the next level from Casablanca or Fez, this is probably expected I guess. My favourite dish personally was the potatoes I got on the side. All the dishes were decent, but nothing really stuck in my memory. My girlfriend however thought the place was great, and I think you should still try it. I believe she has a great taste and you will have to take her word for it.
Getting to the place can be rather difficult especially when you're following Google maps and lost your connection in the depths of the market/Medina especially if you're staying in a Riad on the other side of the old town. We had a pretty hard time getting back after dinner. It's a nice walk but it might be safer just to take a taxi to the nearest point the...
Read moreStopped here for lunch. Was seated inside so missed out on the rooftop sadly. This place wasn’t too bad but one thing I wanted to point out was their inconsistency in portion sizes. I took a picture when the food first came and you can see that I’ve just been given a few potato cubes, I didn’t query it at first because I thought that was their normal portion size or something but only towards the end of our lunch, when I saw other people being served the same meal but with 5x more than what I received, I ended up showing our waiter what I received and whether that was their normal portion size. He said no and he went and got the manager. I showed the manager who had realised what had happened and he was really kind and apologetic. I told him I wasn’t happy to pay full price as I never received a full plate and he ended up knocking the drinks off our bill which was a nice gesture. He did say that I should’ve mentioned it before I started eating but how would I know what their normal portion size is? This needs to be queried with the chef who let the plate go out and the waiter who served it to me. Clearly, the team needs some training on what their dishes are supposed to look like. Other than that, food was nice and...
