This restaurant is situated on Hereford Street, at the BNZ Centre. It is next to an alleyway and Burger Fuel, with Robert Harris on the other side. I have been to this Hachi Hachi many times and ordered different kind of dishes; from noodle to rice to sushi. However, my favourite meal is the Japanese bento set called Karaage Crispy Chicken set 😋, and the taste is the same (or similar) even I had eaten it after a year!. Anyway, it comes with a bowl of miso soup, a bowl of rice (you can choose either a normal or sushi rice, I recommend the latter one), a few slices of ginger, a dipping sauce (for the salad), a bowl of Japanese salad and lastly, the main star of this dish, Karaage Crispy Chicken (crispy chicken with sweet ginger sauce). I would say the taste is marvelous, definitely sweet with a hint of ginger flavor. It is [definitely] cooked with a Japanese soy sauce + their secret ingredients. The portion size is, what I considered as medium portion; good size for lunch and won’t leave you hungry or too full 😙.
The other dish that I tried was Tori Tama 🍜 (hot udon noodle soup with crispy chicken, egg in Hachi Hachi soup -- their secret ingredients!!!) which was flavorsome and it is especially good to have in winter! It is a simple meal and easy to eat if you couldn’t decide what to order/ eat (I have the same issue when trying to choose!). Don’t let my photo fools you, the portion size is small even though the bowl looks huge. You can always ask for extra noodle if you’re very hungry~!!! 😁
They accept cash, Eftpos and credit card payments for those who want to know (i.e. visitors).
Food: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. Good taste and well-worth it for a quick lunch. Ambience: ⭐⭐ out of 5. Make sure you find a seat before ordering. They are usually (most of the time) busy around lunch time, from 11.30ish am to 2 pm. If you can’t find out, don’t be bother eating there as you will definitely have to wait for awhile for seats. Price: ⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. Reasonable priced, and it should be that way as it is not a fine dining but a fast food restaurant.
Would I go back? I will go back to have it occasionally as there are more eateries now in CBD to...
Read moreI absolutely loved their food 😍😋 customer service was a bit weird, I felt uncomfortable and I was a foreign, I went to buy some alcohol and I was standing at the bar while she was just standing there looking at me, I don't know if she works bar but I started to walk upto her and then she moved to help me, we then went back to counter, to pay then back to bar and then she didn't know what to do after that and I asked her if she could open it up for me and she did, I actually felt like she hasn't served a darker skinned person before... pass all that the food was excellent and would definitely go...
Read moreIf you just want simple but mediocre Japanese fast food that's it! Only good if you are starving not choosing. The price is not cheap compared to other food outlets in town. Just a suggestion, if your customer's card was declined, you need to show it on the receipt ('declined') and provide it to that customer( who paid in cash then), rather than put on hold on the card! That's misleading because the money will go through again if enough fund is in without the customer's knowledge. One of the girls speaks with a very high pitch, sounds really unnatural....
