I really wanted to like this place and was looking forward to eating good ramen to reminisce the wonderful ramen we ate in various parts of Japan. Unfortunately, we wouldn't return because the ramen was incredibly salty. All 3 dishes, the Tonkatsu, the Shoyu and Miso were super salty. In my case, even after I diluted the soup with water, it was like drinking sea water. I think the base itself would've been good had it not been the saltiness. What was worse was when asked if my meal was good, and I mentioned the soups were all too salty, the staff said that's normal for tonkatsu as it's very salty. If that's true, then I wouldn't have seek and continually eat tonkatsu ramen, right? So why ask when you're not remotely interested in genuine feedback?

For the price, the regular was a relatively small portion. And the ramen was not even fresh noodles. Maybe the owner was really busy today and didn't check the salt levels but I don't think I'd return. Sorry.

Edit. I'm very happy to know that the owner has responded well and respect his genuine desire to serve his customers well. I've added a star for this and perhaps will give this place a go again...

Totally lived up to the hype of the reviews. Came here at opening with our two kids, this really should be a place with a long queue out the door at all times. As it was on a Saturday night it seemed everyone who came managed to get a table immediately. There are several indoor tables and two tables on the outdoor patio out the back, a large one for 8 and a smaller one for 2. We sat at one end of the large table, there are roller screens that can open and close on the patio, plenty of fresh air and ventilation if you want to be covid safe. There was one more table for 4 outside at the front too. We ordered 2 tonkotsu ramen (1 spicy), a karaage chicken on rice and a boiled gyoza. The tonkotsu broth had amazing flavour, the karaage chicken was super juicy and tasty, and my daughter loved the gyoza so much she ate all of it and I didn’t get any. I liked how they had all the allergen info clearly on the table too, and there were other nice touches like the sesame grinder on the table. I would love to go back and try the pork belly next time. If you like ramen, this place is...

Our first time coming to Yawara tonight. Friendly and kind service was the first thing you noticed when you walked in. The menu is small, but the options available are more than plenty to choose from. We ordered two types of ramen, chicken nibbles and tako yaki. Our toddler absolutely loved the noodles and tako yaki. We savoured the delicious flavours of our ramen soup, the smell hit you as soon as they placed it in front of you and the flavour was indescribable, real authentic Japanese ramen, tako yaki beautifully cooked and the chicken nibbles so subtly seasoned, crisp and juicy. Also treated myself to a beautiful matcha biscuit, baked on site and it was really good, not too sweet nor bitter from the matcha. These people have put heart into their food and it shows. Thankyou Yawara for a delicious dining experience. Highly...

The food quality here is spectacular - the pork has been marinated for hours and has a lot of flavour without being too fatty or salty, and even the rice isn't the usual hard and bland long grain rice, it is similar to Chinese sticky rice, being fluffy and having a soft consistency. The octopus balls especially are really yummy. Customer service is amazing, all customers are treated with a smile and it is obvious that this family run restaurant takes pride in preparing the dishes very well, it's not just about making a profit. The prices are higher than average for the portion sizes, but well worth it.
