I have never written a google review before but this is the best fried rice I have eaten in my life. I have eaten fried rice throughout my entire life but this is the best one yet. The atmosphere of the restaurant was calm and romantic, especially the seats by the window at night with warm lights. The fried rice came with just the right amount of vegetable and protein (which some restaurants tend to over do). First bite was very aromatic and had me stressing about how good it was. It was simple without the soy sauce overpowering the palette. The simplicity of the sauce with a slight umami tang allowed the ingredients such as the chives, parsley (which I usually hate), and cilantro to shine. This along with the traditional Thai style fried eggs was the highlight of the dish. My only critique if I had to give one would be that it didn’t have enough spice (I love spice). Can’t believe I went my whole life without having tried this. Will be coming back for more until I leave Cusco. I will probably never try this again in my entire life and this is the saddest part. The price was also reasonable which was around 32 soles/ $11-12 USD.

Addendum after one day: sitting with diarrhoea on the toilet while being supposed to leave for Salkantay... There was definitely something wrong First: I'm traveling around the world since 8 years now, most of this time in Asia, especially Thailand. For sure I'm not expecting authentic Thai flavour in peru in the mountains, but I have to admit that I ate several Pad Thai per country for the last 12 countries in Latin America (all the way south, beginning from Mexico). But I also have to admit, that this was the worst Pad Thai ever, not just in Peru or Lateinamerica, also in the whole world. I feel sorry about writing this kind of review, but after paying that much I have to warn other people about lowering their expectations. I mean no harm to anybody, but there's was almost everything wrong with the dish. Noodles were way overcooked and had a really strange texture, no spices at all, no salt and overall (even if I wouldn't expect a pad Thai) it didn't taste at all. Sorry about that, but this has nothing to do with "fusion kitchen" since it didn't taste as good as Thai food nor Peruvian food. No recommendations

Atmosphere is wonderful and the service is exceptional with servers making sure we were taken care of. The food was fascinating — lots of Thai influence with Peruvian twists. Had the quinoa croquettes, the Tom Q (for Quinoa) soup, mushroom spring rolls, the chicken main dish, and basil cheesecake for desert. The food was good - not great. Found the umami to be lacking in most of the dishes (one of the cornerstones of Thai food which was missing… I swear I’m not trying to be a snob), the spring rolls were underwhelming and oily but maybe I should’ve opted for the chicken spring rolls, the soup was the closest to a very good / true Thai flavour, and I was surprised to see that the chicken was deep fried. The basil cheesecake was very interesting to try; extremely basil forward, and very light on the cream cheese flavour and adjacent-in-texture to cheesecake at best. That said, the croquettes were spectacular. The atmosphere and vibes were wonderful. This is okay food unless you want a break from Peruvian. Maybe we should’ve had the Curries (the green curry was out though on the night I visited).

The place itself is not uncomfortable.

However, I didn’t like the service. I’ll give it two stars only because they were kind enough to reserve a dish for me when I called ahead and said I’d be arriving alone.

But when I arrived, I was actually with two friends. Instead of simply accommodating us, the staff awkwardly pointed out in front of them: “But you said you were coming alone.” Seriously?

I ordered the Thai green curry. I remember loving it back when the place was called Kao in its early days. But now? It tasted like... nothing.

I get it — it’s “fusion,” right? When it was still Kao, they explained they had Thai dishes, Peruvian dishes, and fusion dishes. Back then, the green curry wasn’t fusion — it was Thai. So should I be more understanding now just because it’s labeled “fusion”? If so, this was a poor fusion — completely bland.

The waitress seemed to notice I wasn’t thrilled, even though I chose my words kindly and didn’t want to ruin the evening with my friends. But then another lady came over and asked again, and I told her honestly: “This doesn’t taste Thai to me.”

She responded — understandably, yet firmly — defending the dish by saying it’s fusion. Fair enough. But the way she said it made it seem like I was wrong. That pushed me over the edge.

I wasn’t going to write a review at all, but that last bit convinced me. I’m glad I didn’t order anything else and ended up having some amazing Indian food...

We really wanted to eat some Thai Food and couldn’t get in until our third attempt. On the first attempt turned us away when we got there by 8:30pm because restaurant closes at 9pm. Finally got in on third attempt. What a disappointment it proved to be: We are a large party of 18 people and they seated us right away. We filled the restaurant more or less. Two servers were helping us as we seated at two large tables. They have rudimentary English speaking skills but thankfully we had our local guide with us helping translate for us. Our food took almost 90+mins to arrive after we placed an order. They mangled our order so badly that one member never got her food by the we all finished eating. We had ordered a vegetarian pad Thai to go and they gave us a chicken variant . We tried to correct it with the restaurant while we were still there but they acted so completely clueless. Unfortunately our local guide left by this point and we were stuck. Out of frustration and considering how long they take to cook, we just took the food and left.

What a terrible experience. Food was ok, portion sizes were on the smaller side (especially...
