This is a lovely little hotel that is very clean and attractively decorated. The breakfast is very nice with a variety of meats, fresh fruit, fresh bakery, scrambled eggs, beverages, juices, and more. It is very close to the Plaza de Armas on a quiet side street, making it enjoyable to stay it, but also just a few steps away from a large variety of restaurants and stores for shopping. The staff is amazingly caring, too. I was traveling with a group of 15 people, and one of our members became quite ill with fever and respiratory issues. With just one phone call, the man at the front desk had a highly professional doctor at my friend's hotel room in less than 10 minutes. The doctor assessed my friend, diagnosed her condition, and provided the medications necessary to treat her effectively and quickly. This included oxygen therapy, and the therapist was there within 10 minutes of the doctor calling the service. Unfortunately, we had to leave my friend behind for a few days while we traveled on to Macchu Picchu, but the owner/manager, Gladys, continued to check in on my friend for the next three days, even bringing breakfast to her room. Gladys was an angel! She provided comfort and support to my friend while she continued to recover in my room, and even arranged for a tour of some local ruins for friend to take when she was better. The tour picked her up at the hotel, and then Gladys met my friend on the plaza where the tour concluded and personally escorted her back to the hotel to be sure she was safe. I absolutely cannot say enough good things about this hotel and its staff. I wish I could give it 10 stars! Our tour group returned and then stayed two more nights in Cusco. Our luggage was kept in our original rooms and absolutely nothing had been tampered with during our absence. Lastly, we were searching for a nice restaurant our final evening in Cusco, and once again, Gladys recommended a wonderful restaurant not too far from the hotel that easily accommodated our group of 15 people. The food and service were excellent, along with the local musicians who entertained us. THANK YOU, GLADYS! She even came out to our bus when we left to say good bye and gave...
Read moreThe location:||||The Monasterio Del Inka is perfectly situated just outside of the city center and right across from a beautifully preserved Inca wall. We were able to walk around the city and to the San Blas district easily. ||||The rooms:||||The rooms are so unique and beautiful. The beds are quite firm, but clean and nice. We were in a room with three beds and it was extremely spacious, although the bathroom was quite small. Our room did have a sewer smell from the sink, presumably from the old plumbing, but we kept the bathroom door closed. ||||The windows of the rooms face inward, but they are quite thin. We were there on Christmas Eve and the partying was fairly loud late into the night.||||The service:||||The host was amazing. She arranged several transports and tours for us, had great communication and was so kind. Although the hotel does accept credit cards, they do prefer to be paid in Soles and will ask for cash. If you do not have cash, they will charge you a credit card surcharge fee. ||||The breakfast:||||There isn't a restaurant in the hotel, but it does come with a breakfast of rolls, ham, jam and fresh orange juice. I would recommend planning for breakfast elsewhere, there are so many local cafes that have much better food and are so...
Read moreI have mixed feelings about this hotel.||The place itself was great located, as close as you can get to Centro Histórico, close to restaurants, tours offices, stores, etc.||The room was nice, good space, daily cleaning service, the staff was very welcoming and helpful, and the wifi worked PERFECTLY which for me is very important.||But so is for me to be able to sleep problem-free which is NOT guaranteed in this place. Walls are paper-thin and also they have windows facing the hallway with paper-thin curtains. This, together with the fact that the very strong lights are on all night makes it difficult to sleep.||The noise from outside starts also early, before 6:00 am, which will definitely wake you up. So, if you are as sensitive when it comes to sleep, this are details to consider.||The breakfast could contain a little more, it was very scarce.||Also be aware that the door to the bathroom is in glass, it might not be the end of the world, but good to know. Maybe other rooms might have different setups.||Otherwise a...
