My recent visit to La Bodega 138 for Father's Day was quite disappointing, a stark contrast to previous experiences. While the pizzas arrived quickly, we immediately noticed a significant reduction in both the thickness of the crust and the amount of toppings, particularly the cheese. This was especially noticeable compared to a visit just last month, where even with more people, we felt satisfied with our order. When we brought this to the attention of our waitress, she informed us that the restaurant had "optimized" their cheese portions some months ago. This explanation, however, did not alleviate our concern. As loyal customers, we've come to expect a certain quality and portion size for the price. The current serving simply doesn't align with what we believe is fair value. This recent experience is particularly disheartening because La Bodega 138 has been a go-to for us for over a decade. We've been regulars since long before I even started leaving reviews on Google Maps, and our very first visits established it as a reliable spot for great pizza in Cusco. For years, the consistent quality and generous portions were what kept us coming back time and again. Unfortunately, this change has left us feeling that La Bodega 138 is no longer the same value it once was. While the portion might suit someone on a diet, the current pricing makes it difficult to recommend when other establishments offer better value. It's truly a shame, as we've enjoyed dining here in the past, but we're unlikely to return anytime...
Read moreAfter a long day hiking Rainbow Mountain (a must-do!), we were craving something simple like pizza. Our hotel receptionist recommended La Bodega 182 as the best pizza spot in Cusco within walking distance—and it did not disappoint.
Just a few minutes from Plaza de Armas, our first impression upon arriving was the vibrant atmosphere. The place was buzzing with energy: happy servers moving quickly, customers chatting, and an overall sense of lively, organized chaos. It immediately made us want to be part of it!
The host welcomed us warmly and made sure we were happy with our seats. We chose a table by the bar, where you can watch the cooks prepare pizzas—always a good sign. Although the restaurant has a spacious second floor, sitting near the action added to the fun.
I ordered the spinach and ricotta ravioli, and they were absolutely incredible—the best I’ve had in years. My friend went for a pizza, which was just as impressive: thin, delicate crust, fresh ingredients, and perfectly balanced flavors. The best part is that you can split one pizza into two different varieties, making it easier to choose from their amazing selection.
The service was quick and friendly, and we loved the garlic bread served with two flavorful dips.
I highly recommend La Bodega 182 to anyone looking for fantastic pizza or pasta in Cusco. A lively atmosphere, great food, and excellent service—you can’t...
Read moreI am going to do a rare thing and rate a restaurant while I am still eating. Bottom line, this is one of the best calzones I have ever had (and I’ve had plenty). I tried their local one, with Peruvian steak, red onions, fresh tomatoes and cheese. Wow. Tender beef and nice quality ingredients. I used the tomato salsa provided with the bread to dip as they did not offer marinara on the side. The pizza also looked good (super thin crust style). The beer and wine offerings were extensive, with local and Belgian beers on offer. Service was friendly and professional. They were smashed with big group just as I arrived, and the waiter told me my order would be delayed by 20 minutes. It arrived in about 21 minutes. Well done. In the meantime they kept me happy with a WiFi password and excellent garlic bread. Overall a place definitely worth visiting, especially given its location at 3400m above sea level. Try making decent pizza dough at...
