We were invited tonight to eat at this establishment. It seemed a nice place with a good vibe. The atmosphere was casual. A pub atmosphere with drinks free-flowing. From the first order of drinks things started disintegrating from there.

Our friends ordered Black Label. Yet they were given Tigers Milk beer in the glass that said Black Label. The waitress did not inform us that Black Label was not available, yet just gave them Tigers Milk without asking. Then time and time again draught glasses of beer were placed on our table which no one ordered. Instead of giving us beer in the normal size at the price we saw, they kept bringing large draught glasses which was more expensive. Total chaos it seemed.

Then the food order. My boyfriend and his friend both ordered fish cooked in a batter, ordered separately. Guess what they ended up getting? Some starter portion of calamari nuggets that costs R30 more. So ultimately people unknowingly got charged more for food and beer. Both had pointed clearly on the menu indicating what they wanted.

The food quantity and quality is not great. The portions are small. And for that same price you can sit down at a good steakhouse and enjoy a large piece of steak with veg on the side.

The food quality is not anything to talk about. Average and plain. But it is worse when you get a "mistaken" starter sized portion of calamari for R159 (which was supposed to be a fried fish fried in batter for R129).

I suspect that either this establishment is highly incompetent in their service delivery, or dishonest in what they serve their customers.

Regardless of which, it is way too pricey for such a casual pub restaurant.

Perhaps they think people go there to drink and have a good time. So after a few drinks people can't distinguish between plain and expensive food. Or don't care which beer they get served and for what price.

I really do not recommend this place.

What a pity. Seemed like a good atmosphere. Waiters and waitresses friendly. But...if you ask me and the group I was with. Was a bit of a ripoff.

There are many better places to go to. Where you can pay the same amount of money and eat much better quality of food. And a much more satisfying quantity as well.

Go elsewhere. Drink and have a good time. Not worth spending your hard earned cash here. Not that special.

Try at own...

We secured a table to watch the final avout 2 weeks ago (under Zethu), although we got good seating and had a great night given SA won and the whole ambiance around this victory. Our experience ended on a worrible note when we were approached outside the establishment by the waiter serving us accusing of not paying the full amount on the bill. We asked her to please provide us with the proof of the outstanding amount so we could figure where the mistake was made, she however couldn't tell us how much was outstanding but instead started presenting with histrionics like crying and signaling to the bouncers that we were refusing to pay. The bouncers charged at us, one in particular with the name tag Khoza shouted in isizulu to the others that we were refusing to pay without having context of what had actually transpired next thing we were surrounded by bouncers intimidating us More specifically the one with the name tag Khoza as he threatened us with physical violence whilst we were trying to explain our dilemma with the waitress who still couldn't tell us how much we owed from the bill. We even tried to show notifications from our banking apps indicating that we did pay our bill, all she needed to do was to tell us how much was outstanding which she kept failing to do. The bouncers continued to make a spectical of the whole incident again with no context. This was anxiety provoking and a complete abuse of power, we finally were told we owe R260 which we paid to keep the peace although no proof was provided to verify this. As we walked away one other patron who observed the whole thing informed us that a similar incident had happened to him at the same establishment. To say this was a worrible end to a great night is an understatement, I feared the bouncers would physically assault us and felt forced to pay an amount to keep the peace. Never setting foot there ever again, it's a shame that this has tainted my perception of the whole brand. But humiliation and intimidation are not on the cards for me when I leave my home...

Hi

I think my wife didn't complain enough the service we were given on the 17h of August 2022.

So it was my wife's birthday we were planning a good outing to celebrate her. We struggled to choose a restaurant so we ended up opting for Tigers milk, hoping we would receive good service it was total opposite of what we expected having to try a new restaurant. I was extremely disappointed. So we were seated towards the bar side on the far end by the rounded table. As we walked in it was a warm welcome however no waiters were interested to assist us as they were discussing who should serve us! I don't know whether we were prejudged!! as customers or something. On the other hand the were two "African male" behind us im sure those are regulars seeing that different waiters go to the table to greet and have a social discussion about girls. I've never felt so disrespected in my life. So we ended up paying for those drinks we ordered and we left cause I personally believe a customer comes first but that's not what we received from the restaurant. which seemed so classy and cool!.. Also the manager who is tall African male he kept on putting emphasis to his stuff that there's special guest coming rather there's an event so the whole point was for everyone to drift the attention and prepare for so called "guest" which I believe we were also guests/ customers in the restaurant but my experience and expectations took out the worst out of me I've never received such service. I'm sure even McDonald's or Spur gives out the best service. Maybe if they can learn from them a thing or two. Thanks hope stuff and management...

Lovely restaurant with great tasting burgers. Visited Tiger’s Milk on NYE for some burgers and left wanting more. We were two; I had the rockstar burger and the other had the smash that chicken burger. The burgers were big. Not only big but delicious too. Like really good. The ingredients tasted so fresh and were still hot. The chips were just okay, have had better. Also, the portions were not consistent throughout the plates. My partners chips were not so much that we had to order more chips. The prices are also a bit high (maybe because it is by Melrose Arch?) They have wings which go for R130 as a starter. The shocker is that it’s only 6 winglets. Ehhhh. One big disappointment with this restaurant were the restrooms. They really need some work and some cleaning. Toilets were dirty inside and infrastructure is really bad. They have a card which mentions that “if the toilet is not clean, hand over the card to one staff”. Why not just have someone who regularly checks and cleans them ? They were really disgusting that you might opt for the mall toilets. Overall I’d visit again. The burgers are good and I’d like to try other meals.

I recently visited Tiger's Milk Melrose Archb and unfortunately, I have to give it a 2-star review. My friends and I came here for drinks, but we were extremely disappointed with the quality of the drinks. The first round of drinks we ordered lacked any noticeable amount of alcohol, which was a major letdown. We were expecting to enjoy some strong and delicious cocktails, but instead, we got drinks that tasted more like juice than anything else. On top of that, the atmosphere was not what we were expecting either. There was no music playing, and the overall vibe was extremely quiet. It felt like we were in a library rather than a bar. We were hoping for a lively and fun atmosphere, but we ended up feeling bored and underwhelmed. Overall, while the service was decent and the food was okay, the drinks and atmosphere really let this place down. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend Tiger's Milk Sandton for a night out or even for a casual drink with friends.

A gathering of the "Old Guards" as we called it. Bunch of pals got together for drinks on the coldest day ever. Nonetheless we were determined to see one another. It was my first time going to this branch. Surprised it was an older crowd (my age) and not a much younger crowd as expected. Because we were so many it was easier to order food and drinks at the bar, then trying to figure out payments for like 15 people. Staff were helpful and on the ball as we kept moving around socialising with friends we haven't seen since they left our company. So thank you to all of them. It was such a great evening. The Jalapeño Poppers were divine. The AK47 fries definitely needs to be eaten warm and shared as you can see the size. Didn't get pics of the pizzas but they were also good. I preferred this branch to the bedfordview one. Sorry. #TheFoodMusketeer #TheFoodMusketeerEats #TheFoodMusketeerDrinks #TFMTigersMilk
