Goiko | Urquinaona — Restaurant in Barcelona

I went about 10 days ago and despite the place being empty there was bo one ti welcome us or offer menu drinks etc.. we moved table just close to the bar where a girl was speaking on the phone... We waited and waited so finally approached her, without speaking to me she just called her colleague who came and asked what we wanted, I needed a menu and as he didn't give us, I went and took myself he then took them from my hands and offered to bring them to the table.. after it took a while for the person to come and take our order do I once again had to go up and deliver it myself at the bar. At the same time he was super attentive to a small group of people who came after us. My drink was forgotten and my order wasn't right- after asking my burger to be done with beyond burger I got it with beyond burger but with bacon- i mean come on! I asked the bacon to be removed( just save time and not be tough on the staff), but when I got it back there were still chunks of bacon there.. At the same time beside us there was still the other table with people who were treated professionally.. So that is how I see reviews may vary greatly.. Anyway, I paid and asked for take away, the waiter once again forgot my request. And all this time there were two tables who the staff never bothered to clean.. how come it it this bad with two tables only?!? It is not the first time I got a bad service in this place so maybe it is a problem with this branch we've been to another one in the city with a much...

Leaving poor reviews is something I don't take lightly, but on this occasion I feel I should share our experience and given they haven't had an update for months this is fair.

We reserved a table and everything was fine until we sat down.

There seemed to be something happening at the back of the restaurant, possibly some unhappy customers. Lots of delivery food was being taken to the couriers outside.

The restaurant was pretty empty, maybe five tables with people sat at them.

We eventually had our order taken, 10-15 minutes after sitting.

When everything arrived it looked great, however the food was cold. Not McDonald's cold, actually cold like it had been sat for an hour.

One of our veggie burgers was actually frozen. We thought our daughter was being dramatic but it was stone cold frozen.

We complained and were offered a fresh meal but by this time we had been in the restaurant for nearly an hour with hungry teens so declined.

I must say the food looked like it should have been nice, but sadly the whole waiting around for frozen food was a huge let down.

The server was apologetic and we paid for the drinks and left.

I'm not sure what happened this evening, but we won't...

Burgers here were reasonably good, fries were cold. However, We arrived and asked for a table for 3, the female server showed us to a section of the restaurant that was full with 1 table near the window. I pointed to another table next to this area and asked to sit there as it was less crowded(other tables were being used in this area). the waitress said no, I thought she was joking, but no she insisted we sit by the window in the crowded area. I said we'd like to sit here or we could go elsewhere. To my astonishment, she said ok, and placed the menus on the bar and walked off. Shocking standard of customer service, fortunately, the gentleman that served us was excellent. One of our party was a non pork eater, they asked for no bacon in a burger, it came with bacon. They explained to the waiter that they ordered no bacon. Of course, the same burger came back with the bacon removed. For someone that doesn't eat bacon for religious reasons, that's just not good enough. Do better Goiko when dealing with peoples religious and personal requests! Such a shame the actions of one, rude, bored young employee can make our experience here so...
