Elephant Thai — Restaurant in Stockholm

Not sure if they just changed their service staff and chef. Came here due to its high rating but was very disappointed. Will NOT recommend.

There's toilets in the restaurant, but the waiter said it's only for the staff, not for customer use.

Told us that water is free, but when we requested for warm water she said we have to pay.

The food is very salty, not authentic Thai taste at all. As an Asian, I've gone to many Thai restaurant across the globe, including those in Bangkok, this is unfortunately the worse Thai food. Their food portion is also smaller than a typical Thai restaurant.

The staff came and asked during our meal how is the food, we expressed our honest disappointment, hoping that it will be improved for subsequent customers. What's worse is her sudden change in attitude. Her face immediately turned black and from this point onwards, no more eye contact with us.

We had to face a waiter with a black face who was looking away the whole time we were speaking. She also didn't give us the receipt. When I asked for it, she was very annoyed and read out the dishes we ordered unwillingly. That's so rude.

My friend and I had an extremely disappointing dining experience here. From the moment we sat down, the service—or lack thereof—was shocking.

A lady waitress completely ignored us the entire time. While we were in the middle of placing our order, she abruptly walked away to take an order from another table (local/ western customers) and told us to "wait a moment"—even though we were ordering first. She didn’t apologize or even acknowledge us afterward.

What made it worse was the stark contrast in her attitude: she was friendly, smiling, and chatty with other tables (all local/ western diners), but gave us nothing but cold shoulders and a sour and grumpy expression. We felt invisible and, frankly, discriminated against.

The food might be decent, but the disrespectful service ruined our meal. As two women just trying to enjoy lunch, we expected basic courtesy—not to be treated as less important than other customers. I would not recommend this place to anyone who values respect and...

Me and my boyfriend are Thai food enthusiasts, so we were exited to try Thai food in Sweden.

So many things were wrong with this place. I am not sure if they were racist or had a vendetta against us.

First things first, my boyfriend ordered a meal with no vegetables to which the waiter laughed and commented that his food looked “sad and bad” - very rude.

Secondly, we ordered some water that came in a glass bottle and was supposed to come with glasses to pour and drink with. She did not provide our table with glasses while all the other tables had one.

I ordered pad Thai with an extra fried egg on top. My food did not come with the extra egg and she refused to take it off the bill. Also my pad Thai wasn’t saucy- it had a lot of oil which lowkey made me feel nauseous.
