Pinar — Restaurant in Basel

If there were 6/5 stars available, I'd have given it! Pınar is just wonderful, this is coming from a Turk who have tried various Turkish restaurants in Europe and felt disappointed and homesick afterwards. You'll be tasting authentic, delicious Turkish food in Pınar combining various regions of Turkey. They even serve Turkish wine which is rare outside of Turkey: well thought out! The founders and the staff are welcoming and lovely. I have passed by this restaurant too many times without entering... Finally I came for dinner tonight... Amazing. I ordered one of the combination menus that consisted of a salad and three meal samplers -- all large portions. So much food that I cannot finish it all, but wish I could -- delicious!! I think this is a nice place for Turkish food very centrally in Basel. I prefer other similar places, but the food is nice, the service is great and the atmosphere is pleasant. Personally, I feel some of the dishes are a little on the expensive side for what they are (e.g. veal kebab meat with salad for 22.-), which is another reason why I go here...
