EDIT upon 2nd visit: Second visit in one week and the food was just as good if not better. We tried the same aweome braised pork wBok Choy but added a new shrimp dish and a salad wSpice appetizer and again all 3 had so much flavor and taste. We have one more week left before we leave Switzerland and we have to figure out how to come back one more time.
We are on a 3 month foodie trip through Europe. Started in Spain for a few weeks and then Italy for a few more weeks. Once we entered Switzerland it was supposed to be more about the hiking, the mountains and cooler weather. We thought we had to give up on finding foodie type restaurants.
Well we feel so lucky to have tried Home China Restaurant. This is some of the best Chinese food we have ever tasted. The flavor profiles and spices were perfect. The braised pork wBok Choy and rice was fantastic - WOW. The fried rice wChicken was way above average. We also shared the stir-fried mushrooms wBokChoy raps gebratene Pilze and it was a perfectly cooked dish for us to use as a shared plate with vegetables. We are in this area for the next three weeks and will for sure be eating here 2-3 more times. The service was fantastic and the pricing is reasonable for...
Read moreGreat find on our first night in Interlaken and we went back there for the rest of the 5 nights we stayed there. Very authentic Chinese food (we know because we are from Asia and we predominantly eat Asian and Chinese food) well prepared, good portions and most importantly very delicious. The place is small but they have a much larger outside seating area. Because it was already kind of cool, we always opted to sit inside even if it meant waiting up to 15 minutes. We ate our way through many of the non spicy dishes on the menu and we were happy with...
Read moreIt’s my first night in Interlaken and it’s Christmas. The time is getting late and I haven’t eaten dinner. 9:45pm….what could be open? I start to walk. I ignore Hooters. I continue forward and the Golden Arches appear in the distance. I consider “is this my fate?” But then, I notice neon lights not far down the street. I ask my wife “what could this be?” I don’t understand the symbols on the windows but I do understand the slogan out front…“tastes like home.” I’ve never been to China but I’m from New York City so I’ve had a lot of Chinese food. This warm food was exactly what was needed on a cold night. It was close to closing time but the staff gladly prepared a delicious meal of wonton soup, pork noodles, and szechuan chicken. They certainly made me feel like I was home even though I’m halfway...
