Simply Sushi — Restaurant in Interlaken

1 star for nice interior design and friendly, fast service. Food was honestly some of the worse Japanese food I’ve ever had. Ordered the pork ramen (unfortunately I forgot to take a photo). Don’t think you could even call it ramen. The menu claims that the meat broth has been steeping for 48 hours. Honestly, the broth tasted like water with a dash of soy sauce and a bit of premade stock. The noodles were obviously store-bought CHINESE noddles and there were barely, and I mean BARELY, any in the bowl. There was a lot of pork but unfortunately they were dry and tasted more like sandwich meat. The corn was from the tin and the carrots were cut too thickly to be able to enjoy. This was one of the few restaurants open on a late Thursday night in Interlaken, as most places usually close quite early. Unfortunately for my friend and I, the head chef was extremely rude to us. He yelled at us to put on our masks, and once we did he was very cold. The waitress was very nice, but the head chef acted unprofessional and embarassing. If the food was good it would have possibly made up for the horrible experience, but it may have been the worst sushi I’ve ever had. It all fell apart and tasted like fake fish. I have never had a worse experience at a restaurant and would not wish that treatment...

Sushi is rather good. Fresh fish & good quality rice. Good selection of Japanese beer. Odd however is the patron/chef attitude. Yes, we came without a reservation and we were a party of 5 (including 3 kids-an obvious crime in this part of the world); but this is not excuse for making us feel as if they are doing us a favor by serving us as oppose to us favoring them with our business.
