We were in the area and done a Google search for restaurants nearby. Being British I felt inclined to give the Blue Boar Pub a go as the reviews and photos of the food looked so good. So we arrived and I wouldn't say there was a warm welcome at all, no smiles just a hello. We gave our orders and off the lady went. We are a party of 3 and 1 got her meal before ours and was finished before ours arrived. I was super disappointed at the size of my cod and chips as the photos show a gorgeous British sized battered cod. There was a coating of a sorts on mine but it didn't taste of batter. Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with the food and lacklustre staff. It doesn't cost anything to be friendly.

We didn't regret this visit, and not just because of the food. I intended to enjoy the lamb chop. Unfortunately, it was sold out. So I switched to ribeye steak, which I didn't regret. Due to a small, unusual event, we lingered after dinner with the owner, the friendly staff and a regular customer until well after midnight. We had a great time there, a good meal and lots of laughs. This pub or bar and grille has become a real favorite of mine. They seem to cater for both the tourist and local expat trade. The food served is quality at reasonable prices. I would say that there are two signature dishes on the menu, the Atlantic Cod fish and chips and the Blue Boar burger. Both are excellent There is very good competition grade pool table for customers to use at no charge. They even have a competition bristle dart board to play.

Went here for dinner on a Sunday night as we were craving non-thai food during our 4 day trip. This was close to our hotel and when we went in, they only had 2-3 guests and accommodated us immediately. We ordered a Pad Thai noodles and Chicken Barbecue pizza. Both the items were really good and were made with quality ingredients. We took the left over pizza and it tasted amazing the next day as well.

In terms of vibe, it was okay and felt a bit rustic like quaint old pubs but may not be to everyone's liking. Service is courteous and prompt. The owner checked a couple of times if everything was okay. Food felt value for money but the drinks did not. Small beer for 120B was high ( 40 B at 7/11 and 80 in other restaurants), Small water for 50B was high too.

A cute little Western food restaurant in Soi 18. Decor is simple in the style of this no frills restaurant. Food is good, breakfast cumberland sausages were great. Cheap eats, with many specials under 100 thb. You will be served by Amazing Grace who is friendly with good english plus a sharp sense of humour & attentive. Don't expect alacarte. Just great value for money food. E.g. 99 thb for a Roast Dinner on Sunday's. Only blemish, as a sister business of the Danish Bakery & Deli Bangkok, Phrom Pak Soi 51 they could add a slice of quality Danish Bread to some of their meals...
