5 Stars – A True Hidden Gem in Bangkok's Culinary and Nightlife Scene
From the moment you step into Homie Bar and Restaurant, you're wrapped in an atmosphere that perfectly blends cozy charm with a chic, urban energy. Nestled away from the chaos of Bangkok’s tourist-heavy zones, Homie feels like a local secret—intimate, effortlessly cool, and genuinely welcoming.
Ambience & Service (5/5): The interior design is thoughtfully curated—warm lighting, a mix of rustic wood and modern industrial touches, and tasteful decor that evokes a laid-back, almost nostalgic comfort. Whether you're on a casual date or catching up with friends, the setting adapts beautifully. The staff, meanwhile, are nothing short of exceptional. Attentive without hovering, effortlessly friendly, and clearly passionate about both the food and the overall experience. You feel like a guest, not a customer.
Food & Drink (5/5): The menu is a standout fusion of Thai flavors and international twists. Every dish we tried was executed with precision and flair. The crispy pork belly with tamarind glaze was perfectly balanced—rich, tangy, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. The Homie fried rice redefined what a comfort dish could be, with fragrant jasmine rice, wok-charred vegetables, and your choice of protein, all brought together with a secret house seasoning that’s utterly addictive.
Their cocktail game is strong. The Lychee Mojito was light, refreshing, and dangerously drinkable, while the Smoky Old Fashioned had real depth and complexity—a rare find in this price range.
Music & Vibes (5/5): Homie nails the balance of energy and intimacy. The curated playlist enhances the mood without overpowering conversation, and on weekends, the presence of live acoustic acts or chill DJ sets gives the place a vibrant but not overwhelming buzz. It's the kind of place where time melts away—you arrive for dinner and end up staying for hours.
Value (5/5): For the quality of the ingredients, the creativity of the dishes, and the all-around experience, the prices are extremely fair. Homie doesn't try to be flashy or pretentious—it just consistently delivers excellence across the board.
Final Verdict: Homie Bar and Restaurant is more than just a spot for food and drinks—it’s a vibe, a refuge, and a celebration of everything that makes Bangkok’s indie bar and dining scene special. If you’re looking for an unpretentious, beautifully executed night out with heart and soul, this is it. Homie is the kind of place you keep coming back to—and bring your friends to show off...

So, here's how I ended up at Homie Bar – a fun little story. Long story short, we were pulled into the restaurant by this super attentive staff member who goes, "Oh, and by the way, we've got some killer burgers too!" And you know what? She was spot on.
First off, let's chat about the staff, especially P' Rie – total bundle of energy and just on the ball. Seriously, she could easily rock a sales pitch or give a crash course in psychology, lol.
We kicked things off with Nachos and Mango Guacamole dip – an interesting combo that caught my eye. Mango and guacamole together? Huh. Anyway, they were pretty good, though the mango kinda played hard to get.
Now, the Burger Thai Wagyu beef – oh boy, this one's a winner. The beef patty was cooked just right, not too salty. It cozied up real nice with the cheese, tomato, and sauce. And can we talk about that burger bun? Perfectly toasted, buttery heaven.
But wait, let's talk about the star – Yuzu Soda. I mean, who would've thought it'd be this awesome? Usually, it's all light and breezy, a hint of yuzu here and there. Homie's version? Bam! Flavor explosion.
It hit all the right spots from the first sip to the last drop. Trust me, you've gotta try it!
Oh, and the vibe? Totally chill. They've got a pool table, so it's all about hanging out with your pals, shooting some pool.
No doubt about it, Homie Bar has earned a special spot on...
Read moreSix hour happy hour is nice. However, the bartender here is slow and inefficient, he needs to learn how to make 2 drinks at same time as well as while he is making drinks slowly (and the only bartender) everyone has to wait extra time for their drinks.
To help and since the bar is not set up for efficient service: explain to him that while he is muddling mint for the drink to (1) pull out extra mint for the garnish (rather than putting the mint away and pulling it out of the cooler again later. (2) pour two drinks in two separate shaker sets, shake at same time, serve, and be minutes closer to being able to pour the next drink.
You guys need to train your staff how to work efficiently; if you don't know how to do this, then pay some money and bring an experienced bartender in to train your staff. My drink was tasty and bogos are great but if I have to wait 2 to 3 times longer for a drink than it takes somewhere else then I'm going elsewhere (and I am very thrifty so this says how slow the...
