Korean and Chinese foods — Restaurant in Fatih

Note: this restaurant is located at the TOP floor of the Dragon Restaurant. They don’t have a sign outside yet so you have to go into the dragon restaurant.

At first we had low expectations, but the food surprised us and was tasty. I would sum up our experience as follows: korean food but with Turkish produce and ingredients.

I ordered the bimbimbap in a hot stone pot. It was very flavorful and came with a side of gochujang. It had lettuce and zuhinni mushrooms and two eggs on top. Probably because there was no meat.

My wife got the spicy soup. Very flavorful! But there was little meat and no tofu inside the soup. I thought there was going to be some but I guess either I was wrong or they just didn’t have tofu that day.

I'll be objective when I say that my experience here was eating just above average quality Korean food with some decent Chinese dishes present as well. The food tasted decent, but considering that I haven't had any East Asian food in a while, I most likely overinflated my initial opinion of the food here. Gave it time to settle and when I look back the food here was just decent, not too good, but good enough.

Now if you're looking for a place to eat though that serves East Asian food in an area where its really hard to find any, this place is by no means a bad restaurant and I would really suggest trying it out. The beef bulgogi was cooked well and the quality was decent. The usual korean sides were average, the kimchi jiggae was mediocre, but the fried rice...

No music, boring decorations, service was ok but the waiter didn't speak or understand English very well. We ate vegetables fried rice, sweet and sour chicken and beef stew. The fried rice is not a regular Chinese fried rice but more a squishy, overcooked rice. The sweet and sour chicken was delicious. The beef wasn't that great and it's worst when it's reheated. Plates are big enough for three people if you're sharing. Overall, it was ok. Definitely not Chinese or Korean like we know. They are taking a service fees even if the service is not great which I find disrespectful for the customers.
