This is my first time I traveled to London, and I thought I would try some Italian food. I read the reviews, and they were good. The food is good, but we were very disappointed with the service. They seated us and asked if we wanted wine, and I said no. Then the staff ignored us for the rest of our meal, but they were very attentive to the other customers. We noticed that the only difference between us and the other customers is that we didn't order any wine, and we wondered if that is why we didn't get the service the other tables got. They never came back to check on us to see if we were ready to order. I had to raise my hand for their attention. The manager came and took our order. Then, they continued to avoid our table and I had to get their attention again for more bread. I also asked for butter, but the waitress never brought it . At the end of the main course, they never asked if we wanted dessert even though we wanted to order some. The waitress continued to serve the other tables but completely ignored us. So, we had to call her for the bill. We also had to ask her twice to speak to the manager. Finally the manager came, I told him to take the service fee off the receipt because they did not deserve it. I also asked him why they didn't serve us like they should be doing. He didn't bother to explain and kept saying "I'm so sorry." I would never come back here and wouldn't recommend anybody to this restaurant. I got so mad that I forgot to take pictures the rest...
Read moreI remember a year ago, when I first came to this restaurant, I received excellent service and recommended it to few friends. But unfortunately, when I'm not a customer today, they are completely different. My friend and I were walking nearby when it suddenly started to rain heavily. We took shelter under Olivo's awning, and I was even telling my friend about the restaurant. However, the awning above us was retracted, forcing us to run to another place in the heavy rain. I thought they retracted the awning to protect it, but as soon as we ran away, they reopened it. It was clear they just didn't want us to take shelter under their precious awning, even though it was 17:40, not yet 18:00 (their business hours), there were no other customers under the awning, and we were sheltering at the side door, far from the main entrance, not blocking anyone from entering (after we left, their staff came out and smoked at the same spot, proving this point). You don't have to open an umbrella for people in the rain, but there's no need to retract an already open umbrella. This is what I consider kindness. I believe only with a kind and grateful heart can good food be...
Read moreExcellent and delicious food. Found on Google and the reviews were encouraging so sauntered in on a relatively quiet Wednesday dinner. They had a few tables free and our party of four were waved in with a smile. Though in hindsight one would probably be better off reserving a table as this place definitely has a menu that would be popular on Friday's and weekends. Ordered some fabulously prepared stuffed squid calamari which was perfectly done, not a hint of chewyness or being overcooked. This was accompanied by some well seasoned Carpaccio mare or fish sliced a la Carpaccio style. The combination of tuna, swordfish and prawns was elegant and absolutely fresh and clean. For the mains the linguine crab was outstanding and we also tried the lamb leg steaks which were fabulously done, very medium, tender and juicy. Followed with a dessert round of tiramisu and mango gelatos brought to close a nice evening of surprisingly good food. A great find. Bit on the higher side on prices but the food and elegant service...
