If you find yourself in the vicinity of the Tower of London and battling the rip-off prices, then this is a good bet for breakfast, lunch or evening meal. Interesting, I have told so many foreign tourists that they can use the free WiFi rather than use up their mobile data and that they can use the app to order from the comfort of their table once connected. I love to sit in the alcoves that I have pictured in this review. In fact, they have a special emotive meaning for me as I had a video conversation with my old inspirational French and German teacher here shortly before he passed away. It is strange how deeply memories are associated with places. Anyway, despite being a Wetherspoons with its CEO's appalling views on our disastrous BREXIT, not that he will ever admit that he was entirely wrong and that he has helped terminate so many opportunities for our young, I don't think that this should impact on his hard working staff. Despite my disdain directed to Tim Martin, I do believe in being fair 《unlike him of course》an suggest you visit if you find yourself locally to keep the hardworking staff in a job. Eat humble pie Tim 《 we would respect you more 》or forever make excuses and remain deluded.

Doing a bit of homework before visiting London, can and will save you a fortune and ensure you get the best out of your trip. Not 20 yards away, a small shop that calls itself a genuine Fish and chip shop, charges more than double the price that this public house does. The difference ? A plate and a comfortable seat. Being served by really friendly people, compared to your fish and chips in a paper bag. No chance of a fine for littering, plus, it does rain in London !!... I know what my choice would be .. A J.D. Witherspoon in the heart of London This was a total surprise and the experience was certainly very good. Cheap prices and drinks. Which we stopped for on our way out. I would recommend this public house to anybody looking for a great location with value for money, especially a family. Children are welcome and tables were full of families, enjoying the Christmas spirit.. This ideal place to get away from the overpriced tourist traps, cannot be beaten. Just behind the Tower of London !!... You are right by Tower Bridge and this Historical place. If you are visiting the Tower of London or Tower Bridge, you will not regret stopping for a rest and food and drink here !!..

This is a pretty awful ‘Spoons, as far as it goes. Been here on and off over the past 20 years and it never gets any better. I come back occasionally to check… but no. Great location, down by the Tower of London, it’s situated in a grand old building with two floors. Two main problems here though - the first is that this place simply isn’t big enough for this location. The usual cheap drinks draw people like moths unto flame, but it just isn’t very capacious or well laid out. The downstairs in particular has a terrible layout and any sort of crowd makes it difficult to navigate. Secret second stair helps, but can only go so far. The other problem is the people. This pub has always seemed to attract awful groups of the type of middle-aged man who feel that sitting down in a pub is ‘for girls’ and want to spend all their time standing at, or near the bar… Fine… whatever, but the layout here means you just have groups of them blocking a fairly narrow walkway in front of the bar; braying and chuntering away. Grow up lads. Four gaming machines; no wins. Poor show. Overall I feel stressed whenever I visit here.

This is a very beautiful pub. It has great views of Tower Bridge and The Shard. It was quite busy and finding a table was difficult. There are two floors so there is a lot of seating. Staff is friendly. Service could have been better. We waited quite a long time for our drinks and food, which we ordered using the app. Tables weren't cleared very often. Empty glasses were kept on tables for quite awhile. The food was delicious. Restrooms are upstairs on the second floor and very large. The ladies room has a dedicated makeup table with stools to sit on. One of the stalls was out of order. Toilet paper ran out in a couple of others. The sheet that shows the restrooms were checked hadn't been checked since 6pm (I was in there at 9pm). There is a handicapped restroom on the ground floor. There are no visible wheelchair accessible entrances. They all have at least one step. A lovely place, but expect it to be busy at any time of day due to where it's located. It's really close to Tower Bridge and Tower of London so tourists will most likely come here for something to eat after sight seeing.

When: Saturday at 4:30pm Party Size: 2 Burgers: 5/10 I got the chicken, brie, jam sandwich. The bread wasn't good. Jam + Brie is always a good combo though. She got the chicken, burger, cheddar burger - it was basic. Onion rings were good and fries were solid (I now add vinegar and salt to all my fries after being in London) Service: 5/10 You can use the app to order your food but it doesn't have their burger+drink specials on the app. You go to the bar and order/pay for your drinks/food and they bring it to your table number. Ambiance: 3/10 The place was filthy as if no one was working to clean up. There were empty beer glasses and plates all over the place. Everyone who wanted to sit down had to move the dirty dishes to a different table in and wipe down the table. We were a little confused at first as to what in the world this place was. Overall: 4/10 I wouldn't back for lunch.

I was by myself and when I finally found a table the table was made up of 3 small individual tables so no Idea what number to give when ordering. The issue I have is that I struggle with apps and rely on going to order in person but as someone who is always on my own you will lose your table especially when you don't want to leave something at the table to hold it I did leave my bag but was told they would be watching as it was next to the service area upstairs so would be safe I feel what could be done to help people like myself who is always on my own is to have something available to place on table saying table being used as I really worry about ordering something and going back and fined someone else at table and no other table available. I enjoyed this wetherspoon and when the opportunity comes I will visit again. I also really liked the decor of the place.
