Hi there
I don’t usually do this but I would like to give my opinion on what seems to be your relatively new restaurant/bar that just opened up near Tower Hill where a brassiere blanc used to be.
I walked in at approximately 4pm and the interior decor seemed nice as well the selection of drinks/food on offer.
However I must say I found the staff at the top floor of the bar to be almost unbelievably rude and unprofessional. Firstly, I approached the bar and a woman with rainbow coloured hair just stared at me blankly as I was looking at the beer taps. I found her demeanour to be very abrupt and rude as I was ordering a drink and was taken aback.
I then went to find out where the toilets were and asked a guy in a white hoodie who was standing nearby. Without even looking at me he just dismissed me and abruptly said ‘downstairs’ in a very condescending and rude manner. I thought for a moment that maybe he didn’t work here but I found out that he does and he was off shift - standing right by the door drinking a beer and talking loudly to the other staff.
There was also another man in a red top that I found quite unprofessional. Altogether they were just standing around, some of them drinking as mentioned, and loudly talking and swearing and generally being very vulgar.
I saw several people walk into the top floor bar and within minutes walk out again with a visible look of disgust. The only people that seemed to be there were drunk people who’d finished work early.
I used to work in a bar/restaurant so I understand what it can be like, especially when the majority of the team are young people however I would never act the way they did when I was there. I felt like I was rudely interrupting a party at a persons house I didn’t know.
I am aware there are a few bars around the city that don’t have the best reputation and I would therefore expect this sort of thing but given this is a newly opened establishment surrounded by many very good pubs/bars (hung drawn and quartered and even the local BrewDog/Wetherspoons for example) I thought i would given my honest opinion.
I will not be returning to this place and l hope you take this feedback well and aim to improve upon your customer service standards.

Read moreI visited here with my boyfriend, my cousin, her husband, their son and two of my cousin’s friends. I have not seen my cousins for 25 years, and she and her family had flown over from our home country to see me.
Now I have food allergies. I accept full responsibility for them, the world does not revolve around them and totally understood not everyone is comfortable serving me.
My cousin ordered for her and her family, then I went up with my boyfriend to order. I mentioned that I had food allergies. The worker looked absolutely stunned and seemed no idea what to do. She said she’d go get a manager. She looked over both shoulders, said to an co worker that I had an allergy, and then went to go talk to a co worker. We were standing there for a good 5 to 10 minutes.
The manager eventually showed up, where I was informed that while there was cross contamination in the kitchen, it was basically their preference not to serve me. I respect that, and appreciate the honesty. However, if they’re that against serving people with allergies, like me, put a sign on the door. There was no indication of this, nor was there any apology.
Both my boyfriend and I were starving at this point. We had to leave my family, who already had their food, so we could get some food. Every single one of them were absolutely appalled by this. They offered to leave with us, but they had their food and they shouldn’t have to leave.
Handle this better. Train your staff better. Try to accommodate something, or post...
