Everybody is entitled to a bad day and perhaps that's what was wrong with our waitress? I did not receive the service I've come to expect from Denny's at this particular location. From the start we knew it wasn't going to be good when my husband and I chose water with lemon instead of a paid drink and our son of course got one of their mango icees or smoothies My husband ordered grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup, my son ordered the Philadelphia cheesesteak omelette that is nothing like Philadelphia cheesesteaks but rather it is like roast beef but it is delicious, and I ordered the bourbon chicken skillet without potatoes adding extra veggies I also ordered a side of sourdough toast but when it was delivered it ended up being warm bread which was gross so we sent it back to get fixed and toasted which is the waitresses fault The food was mediocre at best. It was not sizzling when the skillet was brought to my table though I was warned it was hot it was not. The rest of the food was delivered at the same time it came out pretty quick from the kitchen so kudos to their kitchen staff. However the waitress did not come back to check if we were okay and only before we got the bill did she offer to refill our water. I stacked up the dishes at the edge of the table assuming that any waitress would know when people stack up their empty dishes to come and pick them up which she did not do and they stayed there until we left to go pay the bill at the front I was just really disappointed that the waitress didn't know how to have a fun conversation with people across the street from Disneyland pretty much and she didn't know whether we were visiting from out of town or not! If this was the first time I visited Denny's I would never go back. The lack of choice in the menu at this particular Denny's will assure me never to come back to this location again and I'm sure the same is for my family a truth It seemed to my husband that their job was to get people in and out as fast as possible. That's sad because I used to know Denny's is a place where you can hang out and have a good time but not here It's the first time in a long time I did not leave a tip. I should have written down a note saying next time you see that people stack up their dishes on the edge of the table they are expecting you to do your job and to clear them? I didn't even feel like complaining to the manager cuz it wasn't worth it but $60 later I will never go back to that location again if I ever go to Denny's again that is. Good luck if you decide to go here the food is not as good as it used to be their menu is very limited now and you'd be better off at IHOP...
Read moreOk, so I haven't been to Denny's in a few years. ( before pandemic) I work near by, I work 3rd shift, so when I get off, somtimes I want dinner in the morning, not eggs. I usually just go home and cook, but sometimes a girl just wants to go out. I wanted a burger and fries. Carl's Jr, Wendy's, ect... Everything is closed, its EARLY AM. Even near Disneyland, everything is closed that sells burgers, so, I think to myself, OH!!! Denny's!! Its right here. So I went to Denny's , I walked through the door, only to over hear a customer complaining about thier breakfast.....oh....no....I thought. Hmmmm. Should I leave? ... The waiter, said to the customer, I will get you another, I am so sorry!! He ran back, gave the customer a fresh... something.... and then welcomed me at the front counter was smiling, attentive, welcoming, asked me "how can I help you, would you like a table? " So I said , " No, but I would like a chesseburger and fries to go please." He took my order, and was very nice, ran off to the kitchen. I poked my head around, and nosey me, asked the lady what had been wrong with her breakfast, she explained that her buttermilk buscuit was hard and dry, un edible, but all else was good. I said thank you! Enjoy your breakfast! I went back, sat down on the bench waited. The young man soon brought me a box carefully wrapped in a bag. I said thank you and left. I went home, and opened my box. I then proceeded to enjoy THE BEST HAMBURGER AND FRIES I HAVE HAD IN A VERY LONG TIME!! Delicious! WAY better than all the fast food places around here! Even better than Red Robin or Habit! The meat patty was thick and juicy! The bread was so soft! The tomato, yum! and lettuce was fresh and crisp! The cheese, good quality, melted perfectly! The fries were soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside, every bite was heaven. All I could think was why would anyone go to Carls Jr, or McDonald's ever again! Sorry for the ramble, but OMG! I was...
Read moreI ordered a mac n cheese alongside bite sized smoky briskets, topped with 3 decently large crispy onion rings, all covered in a drizzle of barbecue sauce. Walking in, I was greeted with a lady who walked me and my group to our table and handed the menu, then Ricardo came. Ricardo was our waiter and is the reason I gave 5 stars for service. Not too long after ordering, Ricardo came by and handed my table all the drinks, and I got my requested strawberry milkshake. The presentation was a tad bit sloppy, with the drink overflowing down the glass. The taste and texture however, turned my view of it upside down. It's thick, foamy consistency, along with the spiral cone of whip cream atop made for a very tasteful drink. My table's meal came around 6-10 minutes later. Right of the bat, my meal looked noticeably less in comparison to the menu, which is to be expected. The mac n cheese was quite appealing, shining under the light. The taste wasn't as moist as I would like. The macaroni felt like it was only coated with cheese, and not loaded to the point of getting a string pull, which dissapointed me. The onion rings were very crispy and the onions didn't fall out like most others. It could have been seasoned a little more, but the barbecue sauce made up for it. The Brisket, just from visuals, looked very appetizing, with its dark crisp outer layer, and medium rare pink. The texture wasn't tender at all, but rather chewy for most pieces. I could taste the smokiness from the cooking process, which was an upside. There wasn't much of the juice that I was looking for sadly. Overall, I would say it was mediocre food experience with many rooms of improvement, but the service couldn't get any better...
