Let me start by saying that I like this place. I like the food. I like the location. The prices are reasonable. Most of the staff is friendly. One of the bartenders not so much but everyone else seems polite. The problem that I have with this restaurant is that the service is consistently slow. I won't say that it's bad because when you can get their attention the service is okay. However, I have been there six or seven times, possibly more. I've been there when I was only one of two tables occupied and the service was slow. I've been there when the place was about 50% full and the service was slow. You get seated promptly and usually get your drinks promptly but once you have your drinks, you wait and wait and wait for someone to come take your food order. I think every time I have been there, I had to go find someone to ask for a refill on my drink. I had to go find someone to ask for a takeout box for leftovers. I had to go find someone and ask more than once for the check. Every one of these times when I've had to get out of my chair and go find someone to do what they should already be doing, I have found two or more staff standing around talking to each other instead of attending to their customers. I was there today and, sadly, it took quite a while for someone to take our food order. We had to actually flag down the bartender and ask him to take our order. We had to go to him later to get a drink refill. We had to go to him to get a takeout box. We had to ask him more than once for the check.
I really want this restaurant to succeed but the public will only tolerate marginal or bad service for so long before they start going somewhere else. I hope their service improves. I'm going to give it one more visit and if it's just as bad as it's been all the other times, I'll go elsewhere. In any case, I...
Read moreThe food was okay. Not great, but to be expected. My main concern was payment. The server did some fishy stuff that raised suspicion. The receipt he gave me to close out was wrinkled like it had been reused and it didn’t match my total. When I went up to pay he declined to use the card terminal facing me where I could insert chip and maintain possession of my card. Instead he took it and swiped it violently in a mag stripe machine. I suspect some sleight of hand at this point, he made a bunch of fast movements and then took my card out of view for a moment. Then he presented it back and printed two fresh sign-copy receipts that displayed a new total. He took the itemized one and put it back in his pocket and walked away immediately. I carefully signed and photographed the receipts. So far nothing sketchy has showed up on my card (less than 24hrs). But this behavior was very strange and made me uncomfortable like he was trying to create a duplicate or something. I feel like he was looking at the security code on it during that moment where it was out of my sight. Admittedly I have had no actual problem to this point. But I observed some strange indicators. I’m over 30 years old and very attentive to detail. His behavior has...

Wow. OK. Let’s talk about Andale Way—this place is beyond good. It’s a full-on flavor fiesta, and easily one of the best Mexican meals we’ve had in a long time.
This was our second visit, and somehow it topped the first (which we didn’t think was possible). As a native Texan, I know what real Tex-Mex is supposed to taste like—and Andale Way nails it. You can taste the scratch-made love in every dish, and that authenticity makes all the difference.
The guacamole? Absolute perfection. Fresh, vibrant, and exactly how it should be. Every bite confirmed what we already suspected: this kitchen knows what it’s doing.
The service was just as stellar as the food—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. A special thanks to Marimar, who made us feel right at home and added that extra sparkle to our experience.
And the prices? Practically unheard of in today’s dining scene.
I’ve eaten at some of the legends—Mi Tierra in San Antonio, Mama Ninfa’s on Navigation in Houston, El Fenix in Dallas—and Andale Way holds its own right alongside them.
We’ll definitely be back (again and again), and I can’t wait to explore more of the menu. Huge thanks to the team for a truly...
