We had a great experience with Green Man hosting a 40th birthday party for my husband in their conference room area that opened up to the main bar area and catering a delicious burger bar with fries for our guests. Overall the cost for the reservation of the space and catering cost per person was quite reasonable compared to other places we looked at for the type of event we were wanting, especially on a holiday weekend. We were able to make a slide show of photos to play on the TV in the room which was awesome to celebrate the birthday boy! We had thorough communication with the event staff of Green man planning all the details and were patient with my many emails, making decisions about catering versus ordering individual meals with the number of guests we were expecting and their bandwidth that evening, and were informed of a comedy show happening that same evening which required us to leave the 3rd floor at 8pm to allow a quiet area for the show in the packaging hall on the 2nd floor. This threw us a curve ball at first as we had spoken about extending our reservation an hour and some of our guests were arriving later than expected due to some transportation issues from the airport that day. I called that afternoon stressed about the situation and the staff offered for us to move down to the loading dock with our party at 8pm and stay as long as we wanted, without charging us for that space! It worked great as we could spread out, bring left over food from the catering meal, enjoy the beautiful evening, still access the bar on the first floor and not be charged for this area! The event staff were great about checking in throughout the night and the catering crew did a great job keeping the burgers delicious and not dry, especially for a buffet style meal! They also brought out the fries in stages so they were fresh and hot. They also included impossible burgers for our guests who are vegetarian and GF buns for some of our guests as well. The beer and wine options were also awesome. The building is also kid friendly as well. I would recommend them for your special event or just stopping by in...
Read moreStopped by early on a Tuesday afternoon. Friendly and polite staff! Great beer. I tried the White and the Pilsner, I enjoyed both but the Pilsner topped it. Hoppy but not bitter, which is what I dislike about IPA's. They do have a few IPA's though if that's your thing!
Seating inside and upstairs, as well as outside on the terrace which is on a street corner with plenty of foot traffic. I'd imagine it'd be pretty nice on a busy weekend night.
Restrooms are upstairs from the bar, which I did find a bit odd, but you do get to peek into the brewing/packaging floor while you go up and down the stairs. There are elevators if needed.
From my weekday experience, I would say it's not worth "seeking out" unless you have heard of them before or really enjoy one of their beers. But it is worth stopping in if you are walking by. I have no idea what it is like on weeknights or weekends, so I won't pretend the early weekday experience is indicative of the whole thing. In my opinion, it could only be better at night or on...
Read moreMy other half is questioning my decision of 3 stars, she thinks it deserves 2. We came in July 13th at around 1:45 pm. The beer tender looked more interested in solving the next word on his crossword puzzle than telling us about the beers and specials of the day. We told him it was our first time here... Didn't say welcome in or thanks for coming nothin. The brewery itself is awesome, great tasting beer (the two We had before we left because of the trash service) atmosphere is good. But they need new bar staff. Dude looks like he would rather be standing in line at the DMV or sitting in the local nursery home playing bingo with the old people than serving beer. Stay for the beer not the service.
After reading reviews going back 7+ months, it looks like management (Joe) is aware of the poor staff and either can't find anyone better, or doesn't care enough about the customers experience to do anything about it, having experience in the resturaunt management industry, answering reviews won't fix your...
