Remarkable find. Great atmosphere with a kind attentive staff. My coffee and water were always filled. From the counter I could see and hear the cooks or chefs (explain below) interact as they efficiently and loving prepared amazing dish after dish.

I asked Reba, my server, for any recommendations. She proposed the Egg Sandwich and sold me on it. I ordered that and a pancake to accompany a really good cup of coffee.

As good as she described it, the sandwich was better. Pictured in this review, it’s a spinach and Swiss cheese omelette on an English muffin with tomato. The omelette alone would have been a nice breakfast, but as a sandwich, it surpassed expectations. I was initially reluctant to order and sandwich, looking for a more complete breakfast, but it did not fail to deliver. Accompanied with fruit, it was a filling meal that did not leave me sluggish.

The pancake was light and fluffy and perfectly consistent. I lightly topped with powdered sugar it was a delicious complement and contrast to the breakfast sandwich.

Not sure if they are cooks or chefs. In my mind, a cook prepares good food up to order and is something you’d find on a highway roadside greasy spoon. A chef prepares meals with some refinement. They were the combination of both with a slightly obstructed view of the kitchen revealing their care and diligence as much as their efficiency and consistency.

Brothers’ feels like a perfect combination of both the greasy spoon and French style cafe. It is refined and polite while also being casual and comfortable.

The atmosphere is relaxed and positive as the background conversations and sizzling grill with order calls create an atmosphere one would think is relegated to 90’s movie set.

It embodies the values and openness of Ashland.

Strongly recommend.

Thank you...

Very disappointed. Honestly do not know how this place has good ratings. First off the food was ok. For the price of it not worth it! I could have made a sandwich for cheaper, better made, and better service. I ordered a veggie sandwich with bacon. We got this to go. Once we walked all the way back to my car I discovered there was no bacon. We went back and they cooked up some bacon and threw it into one side of the sandwich. WOW. They didn't even cut it. The sandwich was split in two halfs and the bacon laying across. They also didn't bother to remake the sandwich so it was very soggy. When I took the bread off the chipotle sauce had not even been spread to the edges, and was just drizzled in the center of the bread. Way too much cheese-4 giant slices of cheese, and one half sandwich didn't have any olives on it. It looked like an infant made the sandwich. Ontop of it we left a nice 3 dollar tip for a to go meal which I feel is a pretty nice tip for not dining in. You would think we woul have a bit better service. Also my husband ordered a BLT and potato salad. In his container were bits and pieces of french fries that he did not order. Talk about sloppy. Almost 14 dollars for each sandwich that tasted terrible! Do not waste your time! Also the bathroom is through the kitchen. When you walk by silverware is just sitting out in the open. Not very sanitary as anyone could walk by and hair and bacteria can get on the silverware. GROSS! Never going back there again. Waste of...

I've gone here several times and have never had such terrible service as I did today. COMPLETELY unprofessional. I came here with a few other people and it took us a while to get sat. That was fine. I understand that it's a busy restaurant on a Saturday. When we got sat the waitress was unbelievably rude. One of the people in my party asked for a cappuccino and she just snarled and walked away. When we asked another waitress about the cappuccino, she looked at us, and, very smugly, something to the lines of 'you'll get it when you get it.' When we finally got it, the cappuccino was cold. It took a little while for her to come and take our order, which was fine because it was busy. However she was still acting rude when she took our order. It took 36 minutes to get our food. I had a great time with the hostess getting us drinks and coffee. She was quick and sweet. When we got the bill, one person in our group spent $18 for two eggs, a cup of coffee, and 2 pieces of bacon. When I complained about the service to one of the employees he looked at me and said "ok." And walked away. I was LIVID when I left. I work in the food industry so I understand that there are bad days for certain servers, but I haven't had such a negetive experience at a restaurant in a long time. I'm very surprised. I usually love going there, but today...

We were just out and about supporting the local town and exporing. We just by chance found this place. It's actually pretty easy to find. Parking can be a bit of a bear. Definitely don't park in the restaurant next to it or the real estate place next door. I only put that part first because it's kinda tuff to park BUT, the staff is rock solid and super helpful. Just the right amount of attention, always had a smile and it wasn't one of those fake ones you would get at olive garden. The food was good, the flavor was great and they seemed to have those same old greasy spoon but with a hopped up flavor. I was peasantly surprised. I thought it was cool the bathroom is through the kitchen, I don't know why but it just gave me a total 70's vibe. :) Apparently the scones are the thing to get? We didn't get any but it seems like all the locals were getting them so I am guessing they are pretty good. The prices per portion were pretty right on, we were glad to see they didn't follow the cereal box trend, shrink the place to make the food look bigger. I always appreciate the same old thing but with a kick of new flavor. Super cute place that seems to support local artist, you can buy art off the wall. Give it a try I'm pretty sure you will be happy with the results.

(Pictures of the menu included) Walking in the door for breakfast, the smell is heavenly: coffee, bacon, and toasted breakfast breads. The decor is warm and inviting. We were seated quickly and the menu had a wide variety of options. It looks like they also serve lunch and dinner, as they also serve alcoholic beverages. The upstairs and downstairs seating split makes this place feel like a nice little bookshop that someone added a coffee bar and kitchen onto. The food was excellent. Eggs were done exactly as I ordered and everything was seasoned well. Portions were large. The service was good, but they seemed shorthanded, which is common in recent days, so I can't really knock off points for that. They still got our food to us quickly, and it was hot and delicious. The average cost is $15 per plate and organic coffee added another $4 for a bottomless cup. For two people, expect to pay $40-$45 total for breakfast. Bottom line: Great place for breakfast with a relaxed Cafe atmosphere. Food was tasty and cooked well. Their homemade scones are the best I have had from a restaurant or cafe.
