The Worst Restaurant Experience of My Life – Avoid The Angry Crab at All Costs
I’ve never written a review like this before, but after what I experienced at The Angry Crab at Atlantic Station, I feel obligated to warn others. This was, without exaggeration, one of the worst dining experience I’ve ever had and I’ve eaten out all over the country.
From the moment we walked in, something felt off. The restaurant was almost completely empty, which should have been the first red flag. But we decided to give it a shot anyway. Big mistake.
First, the service was atrocious. It took nearly 45 minutes just to get our food and again, this was with hardly any other customers in the restaurant. No apologies, no updates, no sense of urgency. The staff seemed disinterested and untrained, almost like they were doing us a favor just by being there.
Then came the food and that’s when things went from bad to absolutely unacceptable.
I was served a burnt, dry chicken breast that looked and tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. My friend ordered $75 worth of king crab, and what arrived was burnt, overcooked, dried out, and barely edible. The crab legs had zero flavor, no moisture, and were clearly either old or cooked by someone who had no idea what they were doing. It was insulting.
We also ordered jambalaya, which came out looking like soupy slop, completely missing the texture, flavor, or presentation you’d expect from a Cajun-inspired dish. It was more like a watery mess than a meal.
Naturally, we asked to speak to a manager and that somehow made the experience even worse. We had to ask for him twice took nearly 20 mins to come. Like what are you doing there no customers in here. The manager was unbelievably rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. It was like talking to someone who had no training, no customer service skills, and no business being in a leadership role. He showed zero concern, didn’t offer to fix anything, and gave off the impression that he simply didn’t care whether we were satisfied or not.
At that point, we were done. The food was disgusting, the service was a disaster, and the management was downright insulting.
Honestly, it’s a mystery to me how this place is still in business. It’s clear that there is no leadership, no standards, and no pride in what they serve or how they treat people. Everyone working there from the kitchen staff to the management needs to be retrained or replaced. In fact, the best solution would be to shut the whole place down and replace it with a business that actually values its customers.
Save yourself the disappointment, frustration, and wasted money. Do NOT eat at The Angry Crab in Atlantic Station. It’s a disgrace to the restaurant industry. If I could give them a negative zero I would.
They should change the name to Angry Customer Shack
See the pictures below. One other thing what crab place your know gives you scisscors to break open your crabs legs. Lol I can't...
Read moreMy daughter chose this place to celebrate her 12th bday with some of her friends and it was the ABSOLUTE WORST experience I ever had at a restaurant. The waitress made excuses so night about how she didn't feel well and she was losing hey voice. It took 15 -20 mins for us to get our food and they were only 3-4 other tables of ppl in the entire restaurant. I ordered the gumbo which comes with sausage, shrimp and crawfish. When I received my food it ONLY had sausage and rice. When I asked the waitress what comes in the gumbo she looked at me with a puzzled look so I showed her the menu and let her know I just had rice and sausage. She then asked what would I like for her to do and I responded take this back and bring me what I ordered. She took my bowl of which I took one bite from when I realized it didn't have everything and proceeded to the kitchen. Less than 5 mins later she comes back to the table with my same bowl of food and said. "She said she'll make you some more roux to put on top of your rice". I politely got up and asked to speak to a manager and a gentleman at standing at the front entrance with a white LA cap, white long sleeve top and jeans replied, "I'm the manager!" I preceded to tell him how I ordered the gumbo and only received a bowl of rice and sausage. I let him know the conversation that transpired between the waitress and me. I told him all I wanted was a new bowl of gumbo made and they can take the initial order back. He looked at me and said, "there's shrimp and crawfish in the gumbo, that sounds like the Jambalaya not the gumbo." I replied, "I know what I ordered and yes there's shrimp and crawfish in the gumbo." We then walked to the table as he repeatedly try to say I must be mistaken about what's in the gumbo. I told him to go get a menu while he was doing all that talking. He left came back and said, "you're right there is but bcuz you took a bite from the bowl it's against did sanitation law for them to fix me another bowl but they could offer me the items that were missing in another bowl. He repeatedly stated did sanitation law provided them making me a whole new bowl but he works make an exception this one time. By then I was so annoyed and unimpressed by the entire situation and BS he was trying to spin feed me I asked for the entire meal to be taken off my bill. Do you know he told "I'll do it this time as a one time courtesy!" I thought that was the funniest thing I heard all week. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AND IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT TRYING IT .. DON'T!! THE food is subpar, the service is iffy depending on your waiter or waitress and DON'T ORDER THE GUMBO!! All you'll get is a bowl of clumpy rice and sausage because clearly the"manager" doesn't know what's on the menu or its ingredients. DUNE AT YOUR OWN RISK BUT DON'T SAY YOU...
Read more"ANGRY", Is the perfect way to describe our experience when we left this place... It was a very frustrating and disappointing experience. We've dined here some time ago and it was a very different experience as we recalled so we revisited. First standing waiting to be seated on a restaurant with only 3 occupied tables is crazy. After ordering a half dozen oysters and specifying that they be my appetizer but then receive my entree before my appetizer and being told by the server "white guy blonde hair with ponytail" that we bring the food out as the kitchen puts it up but if you only put the appetizer in then only the appetizer will come out first sir.❌ then allow your guest to enjoy the appetizer for about 5 minutes, then you put in the main entree 🤷🏾♀️ ❌while eating these "fresh oysters" I tasted a crunch which was extremely hard I spit that out😖❌ I then move to the next oyster had the same exact experience but this time it chipped my tooth!😖❌ I told the server what happened he suggested that I speak to a manager, a manager came out asking me about fried pickles that I never ordered I was asking for her to let her know about the incident all she did was say "I'll remove the oysters from your bill"😟 never asking me was I okay and never apologizing!! Neither did she or the our server☹️❌ we also ordered chicken wings with sauce on the side, the sauce was all butter and oil with seasoning sitting at the bottom of the cup wings were frozen wings just thrown in the fryer very bland no flavor whatsoever! ❌ My main entree was fried catfish and red beans and rice the rights for the beans was so sticky and overcooked and the beans black flavor as well. We asked for salt four times in order to enhance the flavor of this food, our food was cold before it ever came!❌😠 My fiance ordered the shrimp Rice bowl I guess it was okay he only complain about it lacking flavor and having to smother it with the oily seasoning and salt!❌😡 SUCH A WASTE, FOOD SERVICE IN ATLANTIC STATION SHOULD REQUIRE STANDARDS, THIS RESTAURANT HAS...
