Personally, I don't think I would visit again. I was staying in the Sheraton while attending a conference for my school and thought that it would be great to eat at the restaurant on-site. However, on my last day, something odd happened that made me not want to eat here again.
Before I tell my story, I just want to say that the food here is really good. I tried both the Angus Burger and the wings (appetizer) and they were both really tasty. However, the service is slow and the prices are ridiculous. It took a long time to get my food and I ate in my room all 5 nights I was there so I ordered it to go.
OK, now for the story. The last night, I wanted to order something small but different from what I had previous nights so I opted to order the lemon pepper wings with a side salad. I asked the server (I think his name was Terrance) if the wings really were gluten-free as I had looked at their menu online before coming to order but the menu online looks different from the one in the restaurant. He said he would check with the kitchen staff and return. A few minutes later, he returned to tell me that they are, in fact, gluten-free, so I gave him my order. One thing I've noticed about this restaurant is that they don't use note pads - they take everything by memory and then enter it into the computer, which leaves a lot of room for error. However, he appeared to do the same thing that everyone else did previously and returned with the bill and I proceeded to prepare my payment with a $2 tip. He didn't take it right away, but I figured it was because I was sitting at the end of the bar and there was a stack of glasses blocking the way so I got his attention and told him that it was ready. He took both the ticket and the payment and didn't return.
About 10 minutes later, the restaurant manager, Tanya, comes over to me and asks if I am waiting for something and I tell her I am waiting on an order of chicken wings and a side salad to go. She goes to the kitchen and, a minute or two later, returns and asks to see my ticket. By then, the server has taken it and I did not receive a copy of it. She gave me a concerned look, which made me really uncomfortable. I had been in the restaurant for the last 4 nights and never had a problem. She didn't explain why she asked. She looked behind the bar and I followed her eyes and saw that she was looking at the server. She then told me not to take any food from him and only take food from her. By then, I was really confused. A few minutes later, the server came back up to me and verified that I paid by cash because his manager wants him to give me a refund. I'm guessing that she saw I was waiting too long? Again, no explanation, so I'm left wondering. Moments later, the manager comes out with a bag of food and asks for my room number because she wants to bring the money back to me.
After taking the food back to my room and getting thoroughly confused, I sat there wondering what just happened?!? I didn't make a complaint or anything. It took the manager about an hour to come to my door (and you can bet I checked the peep hole) and I asked her if she could tell me what was up. Apparently, the server put the order in but never finalized it so it was never sent to the kitchen! When the manager went back to ask where my order was, everyone said that they had no lemon pepper wings in process. I'm not really sure what happened to the server, but I am really glad the manager, Tanya, caught on to what was happening because who knows how long I would have sat there! What did I ever do to that server?!? ...
Read moreNot a good experience!! Seat cushions were flat so we were able to feel the frame of the seat. It was uncomfortable! We came in for my daughter’s 21st birthday since we were staying at the hotel we wanted to check out the restaurant! We ordered the Bacon Gouda Burger and regular cheeseburger and a black bean burger! Our server asked us how would you like your black bean burger cooked medium, mid-well or well done! This was the first sign of confusion! We asked for it to be cooked to temp please! When the burgers came out there was hair on the black bean burger plate! We took the plate to the bartender and asked for it to be changed to the nachos with no meat (no bacon)! Which came with pico, sour cream, and jalapeños! About 10 mins later the bartender came over and said they had no chips and asked if fries would be ok? We agreed and continued to wait. After everyone finished their meal we still hadn’t received the nachos so we went and asked the bartender if we could go ahead and get them Togo. Five mins later our server brought out a bowl of cheese fries with scallions! No pico no sour cream and no jalapeños! Completely astonished we asked the manager on duty to just take it off the bill we didn’t want to wait for anything else especially if it was going to come out wrong. He agreed then came back to see what we had ordered to separate the checks! He seemed to be frustrated while he was asking who got what. It was two checks at this point both with a burger and a drink! As I was explaining what we ordered he rudely interrupted me and said you know what I’ll just take care of it and walked away! No apology or anything! If you ask me that was the opposite of hospitality. Like many others I work in this industry and I know its been rough as of late with the quality of employees these days! But this was completely unacceptable!!! It was a Thursday night and they were not busy, maybe four tables in the whole restaurant! The bartender was the only one who actually had any since!! Just a sad experience...
Read moreCame into town with family for my neices birthday at the Courtland Grand Hotel . While there we decide to try the hotel restaurant Fandangles for dinner that night . I ordered a black bean burger and was asked how I'd like it cooked , med , med- well or well . I was slightly confused but just asked that it cooked to temperature. When my plate came back it came back with a hair on it , our server was no where to be found so I took my plate to the bar tender and showed him the hair. I changed my order to the nachos , only to be told 10 minutes later that there were no more nachos and asked if fries would work ,I agreed . Waiting another 10 minutes I asked if my order could be made to go as everyone else at my table had already ate and was waiting on me and my food , 4 minutes later a plate of cheesy fries with scallions was placed in front of me . No jalapeños no sour cream , nothing but cheese. We flagged down the manager after waiting another 5-8 minutes to ask if the nachos could be canceled and to.just get our checks. While going over the check and in explaining to him what happened with the black beam burger , he just said don't worry about it and walked away . No apology for the poor service. I definitely won't be back there and will not suggest it to anyone else . Not when the Metro diner is a block away. Not when Hsus or Gus's is 1 block away . Terrible...
