If I could give this place a negative score, I'd do so in a heartbeat. At around 1:40 AM on a Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, I woke up to yelling outside of my condo... the units are side-by-side, 3 stories tall, with a garage on the bottom floor. I opened and looked out my window down to the area outside of the condos' front doors. I caught one heck of a show. A man (apparently the Mama Mia delivery guy) was having a shouting match with my neighbor (let's call him N). N's girlfriend (let's call her G) was outside as well, basically an innocent bystander. I heard the delivery guy shout some really rude stuff, followed by N yelling back at him (seemingly appropriately). The delivery guy SLAPPED THE FOOD OUT OF N'S HAND! The yelling escalated and the delivery dude was shouting something along the lines of, "Just hit me one time!" G was holding N back at this point. The delivery guy pushed N, then N pushed him back. G grabbed N by the arms and pulled him away. There were also two girls in the delivery guy's car, one of them got out of the car looking like she was ready to brawl. At this point I yelled out the window for N to just go inside and not get into it with the jerk. The delivery guy got in his car as G was grabbing their order off the ground. The delivery guy floored it, ALMOST HITTING G! That's not all though, the drive for the condo complex is a one way U-shape going back out to the road. The delivery posse had pulled in the wrong way so they peeled out in the wrong direction! They got down about four units and slammed on the brakes and began to turn around. N and G were still standing there with their jaws dropped as the car's engine was revving while he violently backed up, pulled forward, backed up, then literally squealed his tires as he accelerated. At this point, I'm sure the guy had woken up around a dozen condo units. To my disbelief, the delivery guy SWERVED TOWARDS N and G going a solid 25 mph! N pushed G back to keep her from getting hit by the lunatic, and THE PASSENGERS THREW BOTH N AND G's DRINKS AT THEM! Somehow N reacted quick enough to throw their food and successfully hit car. I can't believe the delivery guy literally tried to run N and G over with his car. N went inside and called Mama Mia's phone number and apparently the owner called him back. From the way it was described, the owner was pretty indifferent to the whole ordeal... he said he didn't know the driver's name, and he DIDN'T EVEN OFFER A REFUND! N told him that he needs to call him back the next day with the driver's name. After all of this, N called me on my cell even though it was so late, he knew I was awake because he heard me tell him to just leave it be and go inside when the events were unfolding. He told me he ordered food from Mama Mia Pizza through GrubHub after having a few drinks. He apparently called the delivery dude out on BEING AN HOUR LATE. The delivery guy said, "I don't give a bleep" and slapped the food out of his hand. N said, "What the bleep?!" and some other expletives and the delivery guy called him a drunk bleep. At this point, I'm unsure if N will be pressing charges...
And that's story of why I'll never order Mama Mia.
Only order from this joint if you don't mind the following: A group of 3 people delivering your food Hour late delivery of your food Waking your neighbors up Destruction of your food Having pre-paid for said food Having something slapped out of your hand Verbal assault Physical assault Physical assault of your significant other Getting drinks thrown at you Getting drinks thrown at your significant other Attempted vehicular homicide Attempted vehicular homicide of your significant other A delivery car leaving multiple skid marks An indifferent party to hear your dissatisfaction Absolutely no resolution/compensation for your troubles And finally, order from here if you want to...
Read moreThe first time my husband and I visited this establishment was about 3 years ago for a late night dinner. The service was a great and we were very satisfied with the food. My husbands came back with his son a few months later. Again, same quality food and service. We always said that if we ever lived near downtown we would be regulars. Now that we are very close to downtown and have been living near by for three weeks, we headed downtown for an afternoon date. Upon entering, the atmosphere was unpleasant. The front staff was very unprofessional. We made it clear we would be eating there. When our food was ready, the food was boxed for take out and thrown on the table. We had to ask for plates for the pizza. The two young ladies were very unpleasant. Not to mention, we whittnesed a non minority party enter, order food for eat in and we given plates and utencils. Another party was allowed to eat food from Jimmy Johns at a neighboring table while a worker sat across from them, smoking a cigerate and ignoring the whole incident. Our food was amazing. But the poor service continued even when we placed a second order. This time it was a take out order. The ladies did not try to approach the counter as my husband stood there. Just as when we first entered , the ladies ignored my husband and proceeded to perform unnecessary task. Then one of them walked out. He told the remain lady he wanted to place an order. When the order was ready, we were never notified! It sat there as we sat waiting for it. Then we had to as for a bag, to carry or...
Read moreI am utterly appalled by my recent experience at Mama Mia's. I have long held this establishment in high regard for its food and atmosphere, but what transpired during my visit has left me not only disappointed but deeply disturbed. On this occasion, I witnessed the staff of this restaurant refusing to allow homeless individuals PURCHASE food from the restaurant and made them leave the premises, not because they were causing any disturbance, but purely based on their socio-economic status. It is deeply troubling to see such callous disregard for the dignity of others, particularly those who are already marginalized and vulnerable. In an age where compassion and inclusion are paramount, the actions of Mama Mia's stand in stark contrast to the values of empathy and respect that we should strive to uphold as a society. It is one thing to have policies in place to ensure a pleasant dining experience for all patrons, but it is entirely another to strip away basic human decency in such a manner. I urge the management to seriously reconsider their approach and reflect on the ethical implications of their actions. As a customer, I can no longer support a business that behaves in such an inhumane and unprofessional manner. Until significant changes are made, I will be taking my patronage elsewhere and strongly encourage others to do the same. This type of behavior is unacceptable, and it is my sincerest hope that the restaurant takes responsibility and makes amends for...
