Sooooo what an adventure! Scheduled a lunch business meeting on a Wednesday and my only requirement was a place with a view. Stopped at Nido on Riverside and they didn’t do lunch only bar food. Called the Four Seasons and Geraldine’s in the Van Zandt. No one did lunch only bar food. However The Fulton inside The Fairnont had a beautiful lunch offering. We both had the steak frites cooked to perfection. It didn’t look like a lot but my gosh!!! It was fulfilling. We had their signature sangria šŸ· and a hazy ipa šŸŗ to go with it. A delightful meal with great staff and service. This is a great place to have an informal lunch. It is pricey but it IS The Fairmont and you absolutely get what you pay for. It’s a definite go to for Austin. Very curious why some of the nice hotels in Austin don’t cater to people who lunch. And I mean a full menu not just a scale down bar menu. That was interesting. Kudos Fairmont!

I was at AfroTech this year and I checked in at the Fairmont. I decided to checkout the Fulton and I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Smoked Brisket Sliders, they came with sweet potato fries. My family is from Lockhart and I am a documented barbeque snob, trust me when I tell you these sliders were on point! They were moist, well seasoned and the cut wasn't fatty. The fries were delicious and actually crispy! I cannot remember the name of the drink, but it was a delicious gin cocktail šŸø. This was a great option for a light lunch in luxe setting and I plan to go again. 10/10, put on a cute outfit, come downtown and treat yourself to something nice.

We stopped in at Fulton before a recent dinner reservation at Garrison. It's the "lobby bar" in the Fairmont Hotel. Very nice, comfortable and welcoming social gathering space. The center piece of the space is the large live oak tree in the middle of the area. Pretty cool! They serve light food there all day, but we were there just for cocktails. Service was good. The drink menu is filled with off -the-chart specialty cocktails, and the prices were not bad. Expansive wine list as well, including both Old World and New World offerings. We would stop by again when in the area.

It's a lovely dining area in the Fairmont. The staff is very friendly, shared local recommendations, and even helped with a reservation at another restaurant in the hotel. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the high standard of the service. My first meal was dinner and the Brussel sprout appetizer came out overcooked. There wasn't any green left in the sprouts thougselections. en nuggets were delicious as was the burger.

My second meal was breakfast and again the service was well received and the food was underwhelming. The bacon was overcooked and the Belgian waffle wasn't even warm enough to melt the butter.

My recommendation is that it's convenient and worth the time if you want to stay in the hotel. Otherwise, there are so many more amazing local...
