Redd Dog edits and manipulates their TouchTunes account. I've frequently had songs cut off mid song or playlists skipped all together. Why offer Touch Tunes if you won't honor patrons' selections. Totally inappropriate. Beer is often too warm and lacking Seattle brewery selections.
UPDATE: It’s disappointing that this business, whether through its owner Lane or its social marketing manager, cannot handle constructive criticism. Their response to my review struck me as dishonest and unnecessarily rude, as evidenced below.
To clarify, the team at Redd Dog does manipulate the TouchTunes system by turning it off and restarting it, which effectively resets the playlist. I have personally experienced this multiple times since the Bellevue location opened—particularly when the music shifts back to their apparent preference for country music (which, frankly, is not the dominant choice in Bellevue).
For example, last night, I played Mystery by Miles Davis via TouchTunes. After about 30 seconds, the song cut out, the service became unavailable, and the location disappeared from the app for several minutes. When it reappeared, the playlist had already been repopulated with new songs. If this was just a coincidence or a technical issue, I’d love to hear an explanation.
It’s also worth noting that the music here is consistently contemporary Top 40 and pop country—seemingly without consideration for the broader musical preferences of Bellevue patrons.
Instead of defensively dismissing customer feedback, I suggest the management take the opportunity to better understand their market. A three-star rating is not a failure—it’s an honest assessment based on my experiences as a repeat customer and neighborhood resident.
Given your response, I’ll take your advice and bring my business elsewhere—to Suite, Joey, The Goose, Tapster, Tavern Hall, Bellevue Brewing Company, Central Bar, 520 Grill, Paddy Coyne’s, or any of the many welcoming venues in downtown Bellevue.
That said, if you’d like to earn back my business, a professional and courteous response—perhaps even an apology or a gesture like TouchTunes credits—would go a long way. Not looking for a handout, just...
Read moreEdit as of July 2025: I had my first negative experience here recently; I ordered the fish and chips, but instead of being battered pieces of cod they were breaded pieces of tilapia. I wouldn’t have ordered this if I knew that I would get something else—I love the fish and chips here because they are battered and cod. I got my order almost 30 minutes after ordering it and the server put my order at 2 different people’s tables before finally bringing it to mine, despite me putting the table number in correctly when I ordered. I usually have very pleasant experiences with food and service here, and I hope this was a one-off experience. I hope the fish and chips can be changed back to the original recipe/style!
Original Review: We LOVE the Redd Dog! I’ve frequented this spot quite a few times now since it opened and it’s one of my favorite places to go in Bellevue. I really love the pay by the oz concept and that they have ciders and seltzers (for folks who don’t love beer, like me). The fries are solidly in the top 3 I’ve ever had. I’d highly recommend any of the appetizer-y foods (pretzel, fries, breadsticks, pizza, chicken tenders, fish and chips, etc). I got the veggie burger once and wasn’t a huge fan of the patty, but every other food item I’ve ordered here has been exactly what I’ve wanted and exceeded my expectations! I do wish that the space was a cooler temperature during these extra hot days, but I understand that’s a possible trade off of having the indoor outdoor seating. I really love going here and am excited to try more...
Read moreBellevue is not a good place for a fun, casual pub type environment. Bellevue Brewing is about the best, but just outside the core. Same with The Goose, though I have only been there once). This is a cool looking spot and has decent outdoor seating. Lots of TV's for sports too. I can't say I had high hopes for this place because pour your own places are more novelty than anything. They had a couple decent beers and the usual big box beers. They do have a decent variety with ciders and wine too, which where they are is a good idea. The food is reminiscent of ordering lunch at a ski resort. Filler food and not inexpensive. Stale buns (or partially toasted?) on both hot dogs and sandwiches, frozen breaded chicken breast for the sandwich. It's just the concept and it's good for labor costs, but you pour your own beer, you order your food online and you bus your own tables. None of that is a real issue, but you're paying close to the same prices as at other places that are full service... And there is a tip line on your food and drinks, which are separately ordered and separately paid for. You input your card for the drinks and they give you a card to open the taps (paid by the ounce) then when you order your food online it's a completely different transaction. This is as much of an informational post as it is a review. We normally give a place more than one try, but I don't think we'll be back unfortunately. I do hope...
