My boyfriend and I went for a late dinner during Oktoberfest, and 1) they were friendly and accommodating, 2) they were willing to open their truck back up for food though they had closed 10-20 minutes before, 3) overall just really friendly management!! Also, cheaper than other restaurants in the area!

Outstanding smoked BBQ menu connected to an incredibly good brewery in downtown Black Mountain. We visited several times over our vacation and brought the girls to lunch on a Friday. Its a really neat venue with plenty of outdoor seating that is covered. The Poutine was worth every penny!

We ordered a Smokehouse Poutine and smoked olives. The poutine is curly fries (the best fries than I have ever tasted) and pulled pork, beer cheese sauce. The olives were a surprise for me, an incredible flavor! I recommend it. A great visit if you are around Black Mountain.

Editing my review because I'm laughing at all the comments I received about a cold lobster roll. Cold may certainly be the ONLY way to serve a lobster (from the ocean) roll, I did not like it. Cold and dry. My review, my opinion. 😇

Smoke is a food truck behind a brewery. They have a unique concept serving smoked foods, smoked right there in the truck. The menu is limited which is ok, but has some unique (again) items. They open at 4:00 p.m. and the daily menu is not available until then. You can order at the window or online. Another plus is that they do serve dinner! So many good restaurants in Black Mountain are only open for lunch or breakfast and lunch. We like to eat out for dinner.

While it was fun to try something different, it seemed very pricy. We got a smoked lobster roll and a poutine. No sides come with it, not even a pickle. With tax the total was over $40.

There is very little descriptive info on the menu or the website so you are guessing at what you are getting. Also very few reviews that we could find on the Internet. We are not on Facebook.

The poutine was very spicy, so watch out. It was a huge serving of fries and meat, but sort of dry. We would recommend splitting this between 2 people.

The smoked lobster roll seemed like not much for the money.. And it was a special (lower) price at $21. We are just not accustomed to paying $21 or more for a sandwich which comes with nothing else. The sandwich was cold, refrigerator cold. It was also very dry. Adding some mayo and nuking it for 30 seconds helped. The smoked lobster was good and there was plenty of it on the bun. There was also a smattering of lettuce or something.

IF they would add some chips, a pickle or a dab of cole slaw on the side of the items it would help immensely. We probably won't go back, but apparently lots of folks love this place. It compliments the brewery because you will want a beer or two to go with the...

Is this a joke with the reviews? The guy who took my order was mad at me for putting in a To-go order. It was wild!! He acted busy on then phone then had no one there when I showed up. The wings were not even seasoned with salt or pepper or anything? Just straight up smoke…which smelled great but it tasted horrible. The sauce was just sambal and a ton of salt and maybe something else to thin it out. Fries are straight up Arby’s curly fries from the grocery store. Brisket sandwich was $14 and smaller than my hand, literally. Also dry brisket and not worth it for the price...

To whom posted the review about the Lobster Roll being cold. They are served cold, kept in a refrigerator and then made. Also lobster is very expensive, if you didn’t know lobster comes from the ocean. The ocean is far away from here, they can’t walk that far. I’ve had the Brisket poutine which is delicious and with how it’s put together it’s impossible to be dry. Prep, cooking, and plating is very time consuming because it’s done with care and love. So “boo” this woman, and thank you Smoke! Black Mountain appreciates and...
