I really hate to leave bad reviews, I typically can try to find the good characteristics in any place that I visit, but I am extremely disappointed in my first BFC experience for several reasons.
I walked in to the State Street location in Boise with my husband and ordered two bison burgers (one in a meal with sweet potato fries, the other on it’s own) three kids burgers, and three small home style fries to go with it. Cost me close to $40.
After waiting nearly 15 minutes (in which time I tried all of their bland and unremarkable sauces in the condiment bar, and I’m pretty sure their fry sauce was JUST ketchup), my to-go order was brought out with my burgers, sweet potato fries, and a small shoestring fry. I requested the other two fries for my kids, and at this point did not care about the one I did receive being a shoestring fry instead of a homestyle.
While waiting for these other two fries that were missed, I started snacking on these sweet potato fries and the shoestring russet fries I had already been given. I kid you not, WORST fries I had ever tasted. The sweet potato fries were nowhere near crispy, cooked until almost burnt, dry, and almost STALE. The shoestring fries were nowhere near crispy either and tasted stale as well.
When she brought out my other fries, I was surprised to only be handed ONE additional bag of fries, when I had clearly stated I needed two more. At this point, I had been there over 20 minutes and didn’t care to wait any longer.
I drove the less than five minutes to get to my house, and dished out all of the burgers and fries. The kids burgers were smaller than the size of my palm (and I’m a small woman!) My husbands burger ended up being beef instead of the bison I ordered, (and paid more money for) and none of them tasted decent. 10 Barrel, Smashburger, even McDonalds burgers tasted better than these.
Overall, I’m disappointed here. Long wait time, incorrect order, and less than mediocre food at craft brewery prices.
I will not be going back, and I would...
Read moreIt was... Okay. Honestly, i was pretty disappointed. Thankfully we JUST beat the lunch rush so there was Not a long wait. They did not have any straws that were Covered/Packaged (which i understand because I'm a PASSIONATE recycler & composter. HOWEVER, when it comes to providing your customers with SANITARY options too consume their food, one would hope that'd be a Higher Priority for any restaurant), so ANYBODY with ANYTHING on their hands could've TOUCHED the Straws they expect their customers to put into their mouths. Our utensils weren't clean, they seemed to have been run through a dishwasher PERHAPS, but they weren't CHECKED nor scrubbed before hand, so we were able to actually scratch OTHER FOLKS FOOD, that had dried/"cooked" onto it from the heat of however they washed it, OFF of the utensils OURSELVES, which is just beyond disgusting. The food was meh but we tried to eat it anyway, i loathe wasting anything, in ANY way, so my kids knew better than to attempt skipping out on a pricey meal. For some folks, this place could be absolute perfection. For others, they may feel similar to the way we feel. Either way: i believe everyone should try this place at LEAST once. That's just our opinion, we hope this helps...
Read moreWe ordered takeout on our way home from the mountains (State Street Northgate Shopping Center) as we were starving and also needed to feed the teenagers. My partner and I ordered two burgers (The Classic and The Barbecue) to share, burgers for the kids, an order of russet fries for the kids, sweet potato fries for us, and brussels sprouts to share. We dug into the Classic burger right away while still driving home. It was cold to the touch and the patty itself was luke warm at best. Upon further inspection, there were pockets of cold, raw meet in over half of both of our burgers. The other two burgers were at least edible. The buns were overly "bready" and cold. An even bigger disappointment were the sweet potato fries that were undercooked to the point of being almost raw. We threw them in the air fryer when we got home, but they were barely salvageable. The Brussels sprouts were the one bright spot in this meal. We spent $70 on dinner for a family of 4. We could have picked up two pizzas and a salad from Wylder for less than this and actually enjoyed our meal. That's what we will do next time. I hate leaving bad reviews, but this was an incredible...
