I'm not usually someone who likes to provide negative feedback to restaurants, as I understand that restaurant owners work very hard to serve their customers but it can be difficult for them to make everyone satisfied, as people have their own preferences when it comes to food.
However, I think I have to leave a one-star review for my current experience. We're fans of Thai food and have tried many Thai restaurants around the US, so we're generally pretty easy to please as long as the restaurant provides at least mediocre quality. We ordered the extra spicy drunken noodles, but they tasted plain and we couldn't even see any chili inside. We asked our server and realized that he had placed the wrong order. Instead of replacing the wrong dish, we only offered to be provided with some chili sauce, but even the chili sauce didn't come in the end. After reading previous reviews of this restaurant, we realized that it is not the first review to complain about the drunken noodles.
We also ordered the black rice pudding, but it tasted sour and had a bad smell. We confirmed with our server that the dessert was spoiled, which made us question the quality of the other food they provided.
We don't know what was wrong with the cooks and servers. Maybe they were having a bad day, and I don't know what was going on with them. However, they served us terrible food and provided poor service. Maybe it was just that day 🤣🤣🤣.
But once again thank you for waiving the cost of the drunken noodle and dessert for us (although I think this is reasonable). I hope you can pay attention to food hygiene and safety issues because the hazards caused by this could be much more serious than a...
Read moreTypical tourist-area Thai food. Not the best but scratches the itch. My friends and I were craving some Thai after our first full day of skiing down at the resort. The staff were friendly, the place was cozy, and the food was quick to come out considering we were somewhat of a large group.
Here's how the food faired: Chicken Tom Kha Soup - the taste is there, but lacks the spicy and tangy forwardness one would expect from a Tom Kha. Seemed like it was watered down with coconut milk and broth. Chicken was a bit dry, but honestly that's expected in most Thai places from my experience. (3/5)
The curries overall were a dissapointment. We ordered the green curry and panang, both with "hotter" hotness, one level below Thai Hot, and it still seemed very mild. The consistancy was of soup, which, if you have ever had a Thai curry, is supposed to have a thicker texture. The curry (or soup, i should say) was bulked with bell peppers. (2/5)
The best dish was the Spicy Tom Yum noodle soup. It was a friend's and i only tried a little, so I can't go into much detail. but I can say the meat was tender and flavorful, as was the broth itself. The Pad Thai was also very standard and good enough. (Both 4/5)
I would pass on the dessert. We ordered the Chocolate Lava Cake and the Black Sticky Rice Pudding with Coconut. The cake was subpar, while the rice in the rice pudding felt like it hadn't been cooked enough and was a bit under. Maybe intentional but not a great experience. The tender coconut garnish was a nice touch...
Read moreA Disappointing Experience that ruins my birthday trip
I recently had the opportunity to dine at Thai Chili89 around my birthday , a Thai restaurant with a high rating. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory, and I feel compelled to share my thoughts on why I believe this establishment is not worth your time or money.
Firstly, the Hainanese chicken was a major disappointment. It was neither genuine nor flavorful, leaving me questioning the authenticity of the dish. I would strongly advise against ordering this item.
Secondly, the drunken noodles were another letdown. Despite requesting extra spiciness, the dish arrived with no heat whatsoever. To make matters worse, the server was quite rude and forgetful, neglecting to bring us the side spice we had asked for.
The curry also left much to be desired, as it was easily the worst Thai curry I have ever had. The dish lacked the rich flavors one would expect from a traditional Thai curry, ultimately resulting in a bland and forgettable experience.
Dessert was no better, with the black sesame pudding tasting both sour and rotten. This was a particularly disappointing end to an already lackluster meal.
In conclusion, I am genuinely baffled by the high ratings and positive reviews. My experience was far from enjoyable, and I would strongly caution against spending your hard-earned money on such a disappointing...
